The malicious drug incident was not reported, so not many people knew that Evelyn and Mabel Quinn were both involved. Mabel only learned from her conversation with Alice Conley that Evelyn’s case would be tried in another month, and Evelyn had already pleaded guilty. By then, she’d be sentenced to at least 3-7 years.
Although Alice said she would no longer consider Evelyn a friend, she still cared about the case.
Mabel felt a tinge of reluctance regarding Evelyn’s situation, but she did not intend to interfere. Kyle Kinston had already handled everything for her, and she had made a statement to the police. She wouldn’t need to appear at the trial since everything would be managed by the proxy lawyer.

At the Corporation, the editor-in-chief arranged for her to visit the filming set. It was her first time there, and Mabel was quite curious. Watching the actors perform in front of the camera, her novel, her script, turning from words into real-life performances gave her an odd and exciting feeling.
Mabel, led by the crew manager, familiarized herself with the set and noted key points to keep in mind.
After the introduction by the crew manager, Mabel asked, "Do you know when Harry Xenakis will have scenes to shoot?" She had walked around the set with the crew manager but hadn’t seen Harry Xenakis.
Mabel estimated that it might be because Harry’s role was too minor, so he didn’t need to be on set often. Otherwise, how could he spend so much time at Han Yuan?
But who knew, when she asked, the crew manager looked at her strangely, "I’ve never heard of an actor named Harry Xenakis. Is he an extra?" After all, he couldn’t remember every extra’s name.
"He shouldn’t be an extra; he must be some minor character in the group," Mabel said. If with that kind of looks, he was just an extra, it would be too wasteful. But then again, up until now, she realized she didn’t even know what role Harry Xenakis played.
After the crew manager finished his work, Mabel went to see Grace Yowell, who was filming a scene then.
Grace’s acting was quite decent, and her grasp of her character was fairly good. Watching the childhood friend she spent two months with, Mabel found it hard to associate the current big star with the girl from the small village back then.
They said Grace Yowell had someone supporting her, someone influential behind her. Otherwise, coming from a mountain village with no background, how could a small actress receive resources seemingly akin to a top star’s treatment?
Mabel acknowledged that without some backing, reaching this stage indeed involved someone promoting her. After all, there were many actresses with better looks and skills than Grace in the industry. It was unreasonable for a newcomer to be the lead actress.
