Kyle Kinston scrolled through, and Mabel Quinn watched the screen filled with various cute and adorable poses of Kyle amongst a pile of toys or pillows. Occasionally, Mabel would join the frame for a duo shot, with each of them extending a hand to form a heart shape.
"It seems you quite like how I look when I have a fever?" Kyle said casually.
Mabel quickly replied, "What do you mean? I like you whether you have a fever or not."
"Really? But judging by these pictures you took, you seemed to have a lot of fun," he said.
"That’s because you were very obedient back then, so of course, I took more photos." She answered smoothly, but once the words were out of her mouth, she realized it might have been inappropriate.
Sure enough, he squinted his eyes slightly, "Obedient? So you’re saying you want a boyfriend who listens?"
She broke into a cold sweat, "You’re obedient even now." Well, that sounded even stranger.
"You think I’m obedient now?" He leaned in slightly, his face inching closer to hers.
"Um, ob... obedient..." She suddenly felt parched; at this moment, he exuded a teasing aura. Just recovering from his fever, his complexion was paler than usual, his almond-shaped eyes carried a subtle vulnerability that made people want to protect him even more.
"So, if I become more obedient, does that mean you’ll love me?" He murmured, his thumb tracing her lips.
She seemed enchanted, looking at him with a slightly dazed expression. Love? She knew her fondness for him was deepening; if this affection continued to grow, it would surely turn into love.
She smiled, wrapped her arms around his neck, "Even if you’re not that obedient, I’d still love you."
He was slightly stunned, "You love me?" He seemed incredulous, and perhaps because he was so surprised and tense, his body went rigid, and even his voice had a hint of tremor.
She nodded, "It seems that unknowingly, liking turned to love. I think I must love you because I find myself wanting to always be by your side, wanting you to be happier."
He stared blankly at her. Her words, like a warm stream, flowed into his chest, as if a place that was once empty was suddenly filled.
Since he was a child, he always felt a sense of emptiness, as if he wanted to grasp something but it was just out of reach.
Only when he learned of the lifeblood did he know that to fill that void, he must find the lifeblood.
However, after finding her, that feeling still lingered, as if the more he wanted, the more void appeared, until this moment, he finally understood what could fill that emptiness.
