"Are you that impatient to see me?" Dorian Howards pressed his thin lips and said.
"Well, you are, after all, my ex-ex-boyfriend. It easily creates misunderstandings, which isn’t good for me to find a new boyfriend." She nodded earnestly.
In his heart, he felt even more frustrated; only she could repeatedly affect his mood , making him want to strangle her, yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
His gaze shifted unpredictably as he stared at her, making her feel a bit uneasy. At such times, she couldn’t afford to lose the upper hand, especially against her ex-ex-boyfriend.
Alice Conley opened her eyes wide, staring back at him defiantly.
Suddenly, he laughed instead of getting angry, "What, finding one jerk isn’t enough, you plan to find another one?"
"Who says the next one will be bad? Maybe the next one will be my prince charming." She retorted defiantly.
Prince charming? Damn prince charming. If she found another boyfriend, regardless of whether he’s her prince charming or not, he wouldn’t let the guy have it easy.
Dorian Howards sneered, "Alright, as agreed, I won’t follow you. But why don’t we make a bet? Let’s see who looks for whom first, as for the wager..."
"I definitely won’t come looking for you." She interrupted him. Just then, there was a slight commotion at the entrance of the banquet hall. Alice Conley glanced up and saw a figure, surrounded by several bodyguards dressed in black, appearing like a star among a crowd.
That person is... Francine Howards!
Alice Conley had seen reports about this Howards Family lady in some gossip news. She was Kyle Kinston’s childhood sweetheart, and many believed she would be the woman standing by Kyle Kinston’s side in the future.
Alice Conley could somewhat guess why Kyle brought Mabel Quinn to such an event today. On one hand, it was to introduce Mabel to his social circle, and on the other hand, to announce to everyone that Mabel was his girlfriend.
But now, Francine Howards’ appearance made Alice worry about her friend.
"Why is your cousin here? Isn’t she supposed to be in Falling City?" Alice Conley couldn’t help but ask Dorian Howards.
Upon noticing Francine Howards’ appearance, Dorian Howards’ expression had already changed. "I’d really like to know the reason too." Dorian Howards said, only to admit that Francine’s sudden arrival had indeed caught him off guard.
Moreover, he was well aware that Francine’s purpose here had only one aim, and that was Kyle!

Watching Francine Howards walk towards Mabel Quinn, Alice Conley hastily wanted to go over and protect her friend. Dorian Howards grabbed her, "Kyle will handle it, you should stay out of this drama."
"Is there really nothing between your cousin and Kyle Kinston?"
"No!" Dorian Howards interrupted Alice Conley, "In this lifetime, if Kyle were to love anyone, it could only be Mabel Quinn."
"Hey, why are you so sure about that?" Alice Conley asked curiously.
"Do you think my years of friendship with him were for nothing?" Dorian Howards glared at Alice Conley, as he had never seen Kyle care about and cherish a woman as much as Mabel Quinn.
