The smile at the corner of his lips seemed to deepen, "You do know how to use reverse psychology, but Mabel Quinn, you’ve clearly forgotten one thing."
She froze for a moment, and he had already picked her up horizontally, walking toward the big bed in the bedroom.
"Kyle Kinston, what do you think you’re doing? Let me go! Doesn’t your promise count?" She panicked, struggling desperately, but in just a moment, she was tossed onto the bed, and before she could sit up, he had already leaned down, his hands pressing her wrists.
"You’ve forgotten, even if two people aren’t in love, sometimes it’s still possible," he said, his dark phoenix eyes shimmering with a seductive glint.
Her face flushed suddenly, and the scenes from before flashed before her eyes once again.
"Moreover, whether one keeps a promise is for those in power to decide. Even if the deal is broken, the one who is lower has no recourse, right? Survival of the fittest, that’s how the world has always worked." His voice carried a hint of mockery, as if to him, this was just a cat-and-mouse game.
Her body began to tremble uncontrollably. Even knowing he was speaking the truth, knowing all her resistance was just futile clawing in his eyes, still..."Even if you’re the stronger one and I’m the weaker one, even though I’m forced to submit now, what makes you so sure that one day the weak won’t become strong, and the strong won’t become weak?" Her almond eyes glared directly at him.
Kyle was stunned. Clearly, her body was trembling, clearly at this moment, she was afraid, yet she could still look him in the eye and say such words.
"So, you’re saying the weaker can control the stronger?" he asked.
"Not...without that possibility." Her face reddened, tears glimmering in her eyes.
His eyelids lowered slightly, fingers lightly brushing over her lips, "Indeed, there is indeed that possibility." If like father once said, one day, he would fall in love with her, would desperately seek her love, would humble himself to the extreme for this love, then even if she were weak, she could indeed control him.
