Entering the front hall, Alice Conley was busy helping Mabel Quinn with incense, lighting it, and telling her which Buddhas to pay special respects to, bustling around like a busy little bee. As his words ended, Kyle Kinston walked over to Mabel Quinn, who had just finished with the incense.
"Finished praying?" Kyle Kinston asked.
"Just in this hall," Mabel Quinn replied. "Alice said there are several more halls, so I should do some more praying."
Seeing Kyle Kinston coming over, Alice Conley said, "Mr. Kinston, you should pray too, make a wish. I checked online for guides, and many people said the Buddhas here are very responsive."
"No need, he doesn’t believe in this stuff; it’s unnecessary," Mabel Quinn said.
"We don’t usually believe in this stuff either, but it’s better to do it than not," Alice Conley said.
