"Kyle, what’s going on? What happened? I can walk, you know." Mabel said, her sleepy eyes finally clearing up a bit, noting his very pale expression and a look on his face that was serious and anxious, unlike anything she’d ever seen.

Yet, when Mabel saw Daniel downstairs, she was even more surprised.
Daniel... Why was he here? And like Kyle, Daniel’s face didn’t look good either.
Kyle held her tightly, got into the car directly, and the car shot out like an arrow, with Daniel’s car following closely behind.
Even if Mabel felt a bit sleepy before, now her sleepiness was completely gone.
"Kyle, what on earth happened?" Mabel asked in a small voice, feeling that something must have happened, and it was likely related to her.
"Mabel, don’t ask now. We’re going to the hospital for an examination, and I’ll tell you once it’s done!" Kyle said, and at that moment, Mabel could hear his voice trembling faintly.
She bit her lip slightly and didn’t ask further. She glanced at the car’s rearview mirror and saw Daniel’s car following them all the way.
The atmosphere in the car was inexplicably tense.
Kyle drove the car to the hospital, carrying her straight inside. Even though she felt she could walk perfectly fine, Kyle insisted on carrying her.

In the hospital corridor, Kyle and Daniel stood on either side, looked at each other for a moment, and then averted their gazes.

It took nearly until dawn, but Mabel finally finished all the necessary tests.

Mabel thought for a moment, got up, and immediately, both of them looked at her with tense anticipation as if she’d made some significant move.
"Uh... I just wanted to pour you both some water. You two really don’t seem to be doing well right now." Mabel said, not quite understanding why she had to undergo tests in the middle of the night, but seeing them was really a bit much.
Kyle and Daniel exchanged glances. Mabel walked to the water cooler in the conference room, took two paper cups, and poured two cups of warm water.
She placed one cup on the table in front of Daniel.
And the other cup, she walked over to Kyle and handed it to him.
He reached out to take the paper cup, but unsteadily, it slipped from his hand, tumbling to the floor.
