Mabel Quinn only then remembered the reason she came to Kyle Kinston’s room. "I wanted to thank you. I heard from Katie today that her boyfriend has returned to his original unit."
Seeing Katie’s relieved smile, she genuinely felt happy for her former classmate.
Kyle Kinston slowly straightened up, his phoenix eyes looking at the person in front of him, "So how do you plan to thank me?"
She was dumbfounded. She just intended to come over and say thank you, without any other thank-you gifts! But facing Kyle Kinston, she naturally couldn’t say that, so she thought for a moment and said, "How about I treat you to a meal as thanks?" Of course, this was just a token gesture. She didn’t really expect him to agree.
After all, it was said that Kyle Kinston wasn’t someone who enjoyed dinners, and even the big shots in the city might not be able to invite him for a meal, let alone her.

Twenty minutes later, Mabel Quinn stood at the entrance of a barbecue restaurant, looking at Kyle Kinston beside her, "Do you really want to eat here?"
"Didn’t you say this barbecue place is pretty good?" he countered.
She was speechless. Alright, she did say that. When he asked what she would treat him to, she casually mentioned this barbecue place she used to frequent with her dorm friends.
But the fact that Kyle Kinston would forgo the gourmet meals at the mansion to actually eat a self-service barbecue with her made Mabel Quinn feel a little surreal.
Even after the two entered the barbecue restaurant and sat down, she still felt somewhat unreal.
The owner brought the menu, and Kyle Kinston let Mabel Quinn order, so she ordered some skewers, side dishes, and a bottle of cola for herself. Then she looked at Kyle Kinston and asked, "What would you like to drink, beer?" It seemed that men generally ordered beer when having barbecue.
"Sure." Kyle Kinston nodded.
So Mabel Quinn ordered two bottles of beer. Not far from their table, at another table, the bodyguards responsible for protecting Kyle Kinston ordered some skewers for formality’s sake, but their focus was more on Kyle Kinston and Mabel Quinn. After all, they were responsible for the president’s safety, and if anything happened to this gentleman, not one of them could be exonerated.
The skewers and drinks were served in no time, but before Mabel Quinn could do anything, Kyle Kinston had already opened her bottle of cola and poured it into her glass, then poured some of his beer.
At first, Mabel Quinn thought she should be the one grilling the skewers, but later, it turned out that Kyle was doing most of the grilling, while she was the one eating.
His long fingers flipping the skewers had an indescribable charm to them.
Looking at the person in front of her, Mabel Quinn only felt her face getting hot, probably because of the barbecue, she told herself, yet she couldn’t help but touch her flushed cheeks.
"Why did you stop eating?" a gentle voice suddenly asked.
"Huh?" She suddenly snapped back to reality, only to meet those deep phoenix eyes, instantly feeling like her heart skipped a beat. In front of her, some more skewers were placed in her dish.
Mabel Quinn hurriedly looked down to eat.
