The hospital room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Eleanor Winslow lowered her gaze and met the eyes of the man lying on the hospital bed.
Her expression was indifferent, tinged with scrutiny and self-mockery.
The laziness on Adrian Grant’s face disappeared as he said helplessly, "Zia, if you’re foolish, then who in this world is smart?"
Adrian showed some interest, "When did you start having doubts?"
