Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode Chapter 419

The silence that followed Agares’s failed retort wasn’t just awkward, it was damning. For the Demon Kings, creatures born and forged in violence, who always chose war over words, the fact that none of them leapt to challenge this unknown threat said more than they realized.

Not that any of them would admit it aloud but the truth was undeniable. A being they didn’t understand, a man who had humiliated the highest of Eden and conquered their peer, now lingered in the shadow of their thoughts like a creeping storm. And because they knew nothing of him, they couldn’t even be sure they had the strength to face him if it came to that.

Asmodeu who remained quiet all this while, simply listened. His cold, elegant, and calculating. But within his heart he laughed.

If he hadn’t submitted to Clyde, hadn’t been defeated and forced to kneel beneath that man’s overwhelming power, perhaps he would have felt the same rage and confusion boiling in these kings now.

But instead, Asmodeus had gained something from it. Power, knowledge, and a place beneath something truly greater than all of them.

And so, while they postured in fear and hid behind bravado, he understood.

"Wait," Asmodeus finally said, his voice echoing through the great chamber. "We can not act rashly. There is no point in charging forward blindly anyway. Tighten the defenses around your domains. That creature can appear anywhere at any time. We won’t know when he comes until it’s already too late so we must prepare for now."

The silence that followed wasn’t empty—it was filled with reluctant agreement. His words had struck a nerve.

They all hated it. Hated the very idea that someone could walk into their realms unnoticed and could launch a devastating attack without warning. But they couldn’t deny the truth.

"What then?" Bael finally asked, his many faces twisted into grim thought.

"I think..." Paimon spoke next, looking at each of them in turn, "I agree with Bael. We must work with the others. If we want to crush this being we must unite. Once he is dealt with, we can return to our ways. Return to the balance that once was."

His tone was firm, but underneath it was a reluctant concession.

A few low grunts and growls rumbled around the chamber. No one liked the idea. No one wanted to admit it. But no one denied it either.

"Fine," said Belial, his voice clipped, his pride clearly wounded. "I still don’t like it, but... fine."

"I agree as well," said Agares after a pause. "Even if it means we’re indebted to them afterward."

"We’ll all be indebted to each other," Bael muttered. "That’s how it works. It’s decided then. Raise your defenses. Don’t waste time. Then we meet with the others."

A final silence settled, not out of fear this time, but resolve.

One by one, the Demon Kings rose from their seats. The pressure in the room eased, though the tension lingered like smoke from a dying fire. No more words were exchanged. Their decision had been made.

They turned, and stepped into the shadows back to their domains to prepare themselves.

In the vast chamber of the Observation Wing, a low, constant hum filled the air—a mixture of magic energy and electric current coursing through intricate machines. The room pulsed with unnatural light, cast by glowing runes etched into obsidian panels and orbs that shimmered with bottled magic.

Screens floated mid-air, tethered to crystalline pylons and bronze frames humming with power.

The staff, clad in pristine white uniforms stitched with silver thread, moved like ghosts through the maze of consoles and data streams. Most were hunched over their stations, eyes reddened, fingers trembling from too many hours without rest.

Sleep had become a luxury they could no longer afford.

Morvius, the head of the Bureau, had given a single, unyielding order: "Find him. Don’t stop until you do."

And so they searched.

The man from the recording—a man whose mere presence shook the realms, who sent waves of panic through the higher realms—was now priority one. His image played on loop in the central holo-display. No name. No origin. Just a mystery wrapped in dread.

Time dragged on, heavy and suffocating. Some analysts had gone nearly three days without rest, kept upright by sheer will and enchanted stimulants.

The shout tore through the quiet tension like a lightning strike. A young male staffer, his head nodding moments earlier, now jolted upright. His half-lidded eyes snapped wide open, locked on the stream of data in front of him.

Dozens rushed to his station, their exhaustion forgotten.

"What did you say?" someone asked sharply.

He pointed at the screen, voice breathless. "That’s him. Same face. Same aura signature. No doubt. It’s him!"

On the screen, amidst layers of magical interference and cloaking spells, the man stood—undeniable. Just like the recording. Same expression. Same eerie stillness. The room filled with murmurs, the atmosphere thick with adrenaline.

The ghost they had all chased was no longer a myth. They had found him.

They didn’t waste a single second. The moment the confirmation was made, the data was swiftly compressed and transferred into a black obsidian tablet.

The male staffer who had discovered the signal snatched the tablet and bolted from the room, boots echoing down the corridor as he sprinted toward Morvius’s office.

Behind him, the atmosphere in the Observation Wing shifted all at once. A collective exhale rippled through the room—relief, disbelief, exhaustion.

Some staff leaned back in their chairs, eyes fluttering shut before they even realized it. Others slumped over consoles, finally letting their bodies rest. For now, their mission was complete.

The staffer reached Morvius’s office and knocked twice, urgency threading through every motion.

"Enter," came the calm yet commanding voice from inside.

He stepped in and held out the black tablet with both hands. "Sir, I’ve found him."

Morvius looked up from his desk, eyes sharp and expectant. He took the tablet without a word and pressed his thumb against the center rune.

A soft hum followed, and the screen projected the image of the man. His face and his presence was unmistakable.

Morvius stared for a moment, his normally composed expression tightening ever so slightly.

"Yes... this is him," he said, voice low and certain. "We’ve found the anomaly."

The silence that followed was thick with implication.

Everything was about to change.
