Twenty minutes later, all the data was downloaded. Sera pulled out the data box and packed it in her backpack, signaling Du You at the same time.
By this time, the two sisters had returned to this location, and the entire base had been evacuated.
The base fell eerily silent, practically devoid of any life.
"Finished? Good, now initiate the base’s self-destruction program. Then, we come back," Du You said.
Following Du You’s order, Sera swiftly activated the self-destruction program. This wasn’t a complex task for the Photon Elf. However, it required the highest level of authority in a tier four base. Some invisible power bound the Elf, disabling her from launching it.
Contrarily, Sera, being a human, was unrestricted. Even the highest-level programs could be tampered with by humans. Regardless of the expertise required, as long as a connection was established, any action was feasible. This demonstrated the divergence between beings.
The Photon Elf, though the nemesis of electronic products, was, after all, a life form. Controlling various technological items was an instinct. But now, rules bound it, and it was helpless against them.

Right after retrieving the pet and hearing the alarm for the self-destruct system, Du You silently led the others out of the base, and they quickly advanced towards the way back home. With the assistant of the Photon Elf, manipulating the surveillance systems had become much easier.
"Hide quickly, an army is upcoming." Suddenly, Du You spoke out.
The Elf could not just control monitors, but could also surveil the opponents without them noticing. If Du You had this asset from the start, his journey would have been fairly easier.
Just as the group managed to hide, they saw a fleet of warplanes fly past, and some Bipedal Mech were sprinting on their way. They seemed to be reinforcing the base.

"It’s not the troops from this base, but those from nearby bases that have been mobilized. Captain Du You, you indeed are held in high regard," Sera said, teasingly chuckling under her breath while secretly churning up a sense of dread.

It had taken them two days to sneak into the base, but it took them less than three hours to return at full speed.
As soon as Du You returned, the whole of Lookout Hill was buzzing with excitement, and the entire base plunged into a sea of joy.
"Du You, welcome back," the commander of the base greeted from a distance, albeit with an awkward expression.
Chuckling sheepishly, Du You replied, "All I did was fulfill my duty."
"The full-scale offensive plan has begun, and the frontline battle has already erupted. I apologize for not being able to organize a victory celebration for you yet. Let’s make it up to you after this battle ends."
Du You replied nonchalantly, "Let’s celebrate all together once we have taken over the Asteroid No. 66. This is a victory for everyone, not just mine alone." The two shared hypocritical praises.
Du You was exceptionally perceptive, and although the other tried hard to feign decorum, Du You could sense his rage and hatred. It baffled Du You how he had managed to provoke this guy to such a degree.
But it didn’t matter, as currently, the provoker had no authority over Du You. Both were captains, with no majors present at the moment.

"That is war correspondent Miss Wumu Na. She will be reporting the whole course of this battle." Du You learned this from the explanation of a person next to him and realized that the crowd pushing towards them was made up entirely of reporters.
