Wen Nuan saw the hand he extended, momentarily stunned, inexplicably wanting to grab it, but it was too late. As soon as he finished speaking, the ground under her feet gave way.
"Ah—" A reflexive scream escaped her lips as she fell into a pit under construction. It was over two meters deep and very difficult to climb out of.
"Nuannuan!" Leng Yan reached out to pull her, but she kept her hand back, biting his teeth, he jumped down, holding her tightly. "Did you get hurt?"
"No." Wen Nuan shook her head. The soil at the bottom was relatively soft; though her butt hurt a little, she wasn’t injured. However, being held by him made her feel embarrassed and pained.
"I’m fine, why did you come down?" She coldly pushed him away, a little annoyed. "Go up, you don’t need to worry about me!"
"Nuannuan." He was pushed into the wall of the hole, holding his forehead. "Ouch..."
Wen Nuan instinctively reached out to check his forehead. "Is it bleeding again?"
"It’s the back of the head that hit, and the forehead bumped, and it wasn’t against stones or bricks. Why would it bleed?" Leng Yan’s lips curled into a smile. As she reached over, he tightly grasped her hand and pulled her close by the waist. "I knew you were worried about me."

Wen Nuan gritted her teeth, hardened her heart, and pushed him harder, her hands pinned behind her back. She glared at him angrily, her heart fluttering with panic.
Those alluring peach blossom eyes, in the moonlight, brimmed with a unique tenderness, like a deep pool pulling her in mercilessly.
In a panic, she tried to evade, but his handsome face suddenly descended, slowly approaching hers.
"What are you doing?" She took a deep breath, trying to make her voice hard, but looking into his eyes, her heartbeat quickened, and her words softened.
Leng Yan let out a low laugh, causing her heart to tremble, yet he said nothing, just stared directly at her.
Forcing herself to hold his gaze, her heart pounded as his face drew closer, as if enchanted and unable to escape. In the next moment, Leng Yan captured her lips.
A boom went off in Wen Nuan’s mind, her thoughts blanked.
"Nuannuan." He mumbled her name indistinctly, holding her waist, intoxicated.
How long it had been since he last tasted her. Since Ji Wei’s suicide, they had been in a cold war. She moved to the Guest Room, not living with him. That time sneaking in, seeing her sleep, lips almost touching several times, but always leaving.
Afraid he couldn’t control himself, kissing deeper, waking her up, getting kicked out of the room.
Now, he couldn’t care less.
Wen Nuan’s heart quivered gently, wanting to push him away yet infatuated, unable to stop. She was bewildered, only knowing the man before her was the one she loved, forgetting everything about him and Ji Wei.
Leng Yan’s kisses grew more entangled, making it hard for her to breathe, her body limply fell into his embrace.
Leng Yan’s heart shouted with joy, firmly supporting her waist, as if wanting to meld her into his body.
Through the thin fabric, Leng Yan found it increasingly difficult to control himself, holding her, wanting fiercely to take her right there.
