"Do I look like I’m drinking to drown my sorrows?" Tan Qing heard Tong Xi’s words, and deliberately gave a roguish smile, "I just find it boring to drink alone; it’s lively here with more people around."
"Are you planning to go back now?"
Wen Nuan looked at Tan Qing’s roguish smile and frowned slightly, "Let me flag down a cab for you, so you can get home early."
"Could you give me a ride?"
He shook his keys, feigning a pitiful look, "Didn’t bring much cash out, spent it all at the bar. But, I just don’t like borrowing money from women, so I can’t take a cab."
"Sure, I’ll give you a lift! Nuannuan just took a small sip of beer, as if she hadn’t drunk at all." Tong Xi always had no immunity to handsome guys, she grabbed the keys from Tan Qing’s hand and stuck them in Wen Nuan’s hand, "Take it!"
Wen Nuan nodded, something complex flashed in her eyes.
There wasn’t much she could do for Tan Qing. Giving him a ride home was just a small matter.
Wen Nuan opened the door to the driver’s seat and got in, Tong Xi’s hand reached for the passenger door, but was immediately stopped by Tan Qing’s low voice.
Tong Xi was just about to refuse, but was immediately interrupted, "My laptop’s broken, and it contains a lot of important information."
Tan Qing gritted his teeth and forced the words out from between them.
The voice was so low that only he and Tong Xi could hear it.
Remembering the time she had dropped Tan Qing’s expensive laptop on the ground, Tong Xi quickly withdrew her hand, thought for a moment, and then said softly, "Young Master Tan, there’s no way for you two."
She knew Wen Nuan too well, she had loved only one man for three years, finally married him, and they were currently in the honeymoon phase.
Tan Qing was destined to be a side character.
"I know." Tan Qing’s lips moved and he softly uttered the three words.
That voice, so deep, was laced with intense sorrow.
Tong Xi looked at him and sighed.
"What are you two whispering about?" Wen Nuan curiously rolled down the car window, "Get in the car."
"Just saying how nice the moon is tonight," Tong Xi giggled, squeezing into the back of the car.
"Nonsense, there’s no moon at all tonight." Wen Nuan scoffed at her, buckling up the seatbelt. Seeing Tan Qing get in, she was slightly surprised, feeling an uncontrollable pang of sourness inside.
"I’ll sit up front to guide you," Tan Qing shrugged, "so you won’t get lost."
"The competition results should be out in the next couple of days, feeling confident?" As the car drove on the highway, Tan Qing glanced at Wen Nuan, who was focusing on driving, and asked softly.
"My mentor said there shouldn’t be any problem," Wen Nuan nodded, thinking about going abroad after the competition, feeling conflicted inside.
This kind of opportunity, she both wanted and didn’t want it now, feeling torn.
"What’s this competition about?" Tong Xi, a little tipsy, quickly twisted open a bottle to drink a few sips of water, finally waking up to something, "Is it about going to Italy?"
"At least you’re not completely confused," Wen Nuan smiled gently, teasing Tong Xi.
"It’s rare to see you practicing Taekwondo, really putting it to use now, sobering up quite a bit in an instant." Tong Xi chuckled, patting Tan Qing’s shoulder, "Young Master Tan, Nuannuan told me she’d love to go, aren’t you a big boss? Pull some strings and get her to go."
"Tong Xi, I’m not going!"
Wen Nuan hurriedly stopped her, the words coming out of her mouth left herself stunned. Was it possible, subconsciously, she really gave up such a great opportunity for Leng Yan?
"Not going?" Tan Qing’s pupils slightly shrank, gazing into her eyes, "Is he not letting you go?"
