Jiang Yuning looked elated. He pulled aside a chair by the dining table and looked at Nian Xi expectantly.
Nian Xi was flattered. He knew how to be polite.
After she took her seat, Jiang Yuning sat down beside her.
They barely had to wait before the kitchen staff served their food. It was a plate of vegetables and green beans. The chef then brought them two bowls of rice.
Jiang Yuning handed her a pair of chopsticks. Nian Xi was a little surprised as he quickly dug into the food.
She waited a while for the chef to leave them, wondering if he was going back to the kitchen to get more food.
Nian Xi was still stunned when she asked Uncle Han, Thats all he eats?
Our mister doesnt like meat, Uncle Han said helplessly. Madam Jiang is vegetarian as well. Hes been used to this diet since he was young.
Damn. He didnt even eat meat. Why didnt he feel bad about inviting guests?
When Jiang Yuning realized that she wasnt eating, he wrote on his notepad, Its good.
As if! How could she enjoy a meal with just vegetables?
If you dont like the food, I can ask the kitchen to prepare some meat. Xu Gang and I still enjoy our fair share of meat, Uncle Han said.

She waited for her food quietly.
Jiang Yuning looked at her for a while before continuing to eat. He wasnt too pleased though. It was the first time he invited a guest and she wasnt enjoying his food.
Greens and peas were delicious.
After he had a bowl of rice, the chef brought over a small plate of stir-fried pork; it smelled heavenly.
Nian Xi finally looked satisfied.
Jiang Yuning was staring at her silently. He didnt understand why she would like something as unpalatable as pork.
Nian Xi thought he wanted to try some, so she picked up a piece of pork and put it in his bowl.
Jiang Yuning frowned.
Nian Xi thought he was a clean freak and didnt like anyone putting food on his plate, so she quickly went back to eating.
He moved his lips and she heard his raspy voice saying, Pork is high in fat content as well as cholesterol
Nian Xi knew that he was going to go on about his lectures on academic matters, so she quickly stuffed his mouth with another piece of pork to silence him.
Jiang Yunings eyes widened and he appeared to be in shock.
Nian Xi thought he was about to vomit, so she quickly covered his mouth. Its not good to overeat meat, but our bodies still need meat for a source of protein and calcium. Otherwise, we would be malnourished, and have osteoporosis, anemia
Jiang Yuning could only see her lips move but he couldnt hear anything she was saying. He felt her hands on his lips. It was soft, warm and it smelt good.
He couldnt help but chew on the meat and swallow it.
Uncle Hans jaw dropped.
It was extremely difficult to try to get Jiang Yuning to eat meat in the past; it was as if it would kill him and he thought he was going to get angry. Who knew?
The taste is good, isnt it? Nian Xi finally removed her hand after he swallowed the piece of pork.
Jiang Yuning paused to think for a moment before nodding his head. Nian Xi put another piece of meat in his bowl.
Jiang Yuning hesitated before picking it up and putting it in his mouth. He frowned again and quickly spat it out.
Whats the matter? Nian Xi was also eating. The meat tasted delicious, although it was still missing Sister Lans signature flavor.
Jiang Yuning was quiet for a while before he wrote, It tastes better when you feed me.
