As she felt their lower bodies touch, a thrill coursed through her. She wanted to feel more of him and so she moved closer... She heard him groan as he threw his leg over her before rolling her over as he broke the kiss.
But then, just as the kiss threatened to consume them both, he pulled back, breaking the moment. His breathing was heavy, his eyes dark with something unreadable.
A wry smile tugged at his lips as he rested his forehead against hers. "I never thought the day would come when someone would kiss me out of pity," he said softly, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice.
Serena blinked, momentarily stunned by his words. "Pity?" she repeated, her voice barely a whisper as if she didn’t know the meaning of his words.
Aiden chuckled lightly, the sound low and rumbling through his chest and vibrating against her... "Yeah. I mean, I’m ’pitiful’ enough to be Cinderella, right?"
Serena felt a flush rise in her cheeks, but she smiled, shaking her head. "I didn’t kiss you out of pity, Aiden." Her fingers tightened on his shirt, pulling him back toward her. "I do think you must have been a pitiful little kid for having such a horrid father but I kissed you because I wanted to."
"You wanted to kiss me?" Aiden asked as if she had said the most shocking thing in the world.
Serena chuckled. He looked surprised for some reason...With looks like his, did he really think he would qualify for a pity kiss? She pouted and let go of his shirt, straightening the creases formed by her hands," Hmm. But I see you didn’t want to keep kissing me." She turned her head away and complained," Fine then. I won’t kiss you now."
"Oh, really? You won’t kiss me now? What a shame. I was just starting to enjoy myself." As he said this, Aiden pushed his hips against hers, almost reminding her that their bodies were still touching. She felt heat and more there but bit her lip to stop herself from getting distracted as she whispered," Too bad..."
"You had your chance, and you blew it. Now you’ll have to live with the blue consequences."
Aiden laughed then." Blue consequences?"
Serena felt a smile tug at her lips and opened her mouth to respond to him but before she could, his lips caught hers, kissing her slowly and leisurely, as if he had all the time in the world.
What felt like hours, he finally rolled away and slid off the bed. She felt the immediate loss of his warmth and looked at him as he walked away, muttering," I think I need to go take care of the consequences lest they turn blue..."
Serena blushed as she realized what he was going to do in the bathroom and fell back on the bed. As she lay there, she realized that she felt hyper aware of everything when she was with him. Her hands slowly slid to her waist, gently tracing the path that his hands had taken...
A few moments passed in silence, and Serena could hear the faint sound of running water from the bathroom. And her own thoughts ran wild as she imagined him doing things to himself... Her fingers traced lazy patterns over herself, as if trying to replicate his touch and she sighed. It was just not the same.
Her breath caught in her throat as Aiden stepped out, with only a towel wrapped loosely around his waist.
"You’re not going to avert your eyes?,"he asked in amusement as she watched him a little too long.
Serena shook her head as she watched droplets of water clinging to his skin and trailing down the hard lines of his chest and abs before disappearing into the towel.
"I think I am going to wait for your towel to fall. In fact, I am manifesting it right at this moment."
Aiden almost stumbled over his own feet as he heard her reply and felt himself flush. This... Why was it that instead of making her shy, he was the one going red in the face?
Clearing his throat, he firmly grasped the knot of his towel and walked towards his closet," You can go inside and get fresh. I’ll ask someone to bring your clothes over. Or you can go back to your room and..."
"There is no way I am doing the walk of shame from my husband’s room. You can go and get the clothes..."
Serena pushed aside the covers, her movements slow and deliberate as she rose from the bed. Her eyes never left Aiden, who could only stare at her walking towards him, her clothes all mussed up from just now. Somehow, she looked sexier than ever...
When she finally stopped a mere foot away from him, she tilted her head, and asked him playfully, "So, Aiden would you like me to return the favor and give you a show? Why don’t you wait here and I’ll..."
Aiden’s eyes widened, her words already supplying his imagination with a picture of her in a towel. Before he could react, however, Serena swiftly reached for his towel, her fingers brushing against his skin as she snatched it from his loose grasp. She took off with a mischievous laugh, her bare feet barely making a sound against the floor as her laughter echoed in the small room.
Aiden stood there, momentarily stunned, clutching at air where the towel had been. "Hey! Wait—" he started, but the words were lost as she reached the door.
As Serena raced towards the door, she glanced back over her shoulder with a grin which turned into a pout as she looked at him. "Oh, come on!" she called, "You’re wearing underpants! I’ve been cheated!"
Aiden chuckled at her complain and walked towards her," Well, are you sure you want to see things? I can simply push these down for your sake..."
Holding her gaze, he hooked his thumb in the waist band of his shorts and laughed when she squealed and closed the door of the bathroom.
