Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s Chapter 558

Chapter 558: [(558)] Senior Cao is awesome Chapter 558: [(558)] Senior Cao is awesome Huang Zhilei and Cao Yong immediately denied it, “No!”

Right, if Senior Brother took his medicine early as a preventative measure, he should be fine. Xie Wanying thought about it and felt relieved again; after all, Senior Cao had said she could be at ease.

Idiot. Cao Yong cursed his foolish junior brother in his heart. He had merely returned to collect some experimental drugs; how had it turned into him coming back to take medicine? He’d even caused his junior sister to worry unnecessarily.

However, since he found out that his junior sister had had a tiring night saving patients and was continuing her shift, Cao Yong asked his junior brother, “Have you two had breakfast? I’ll buy it for you. What do you want to eat?”

Was Senior Cao looking for an excuse to come see his junior sister? Huang Zhilei nodded vigorously.

Just then, Gao Zhaocheng walked in, unaware that he was playing matchmaker, and upon hearing his phone conversation, chimed in, “No need, I’ve already bought breakfast for you.”

Huang Zhilei felt like rolling his eyes at Senior Gao in his mind.

Catching his look, Gao Zhaocheng not only failed to grasp it but also started to boast about the breakfast he bought like Old Wang selling his melons, “Worried that what I bought isn’t tasty? I got a variety, soup dumplings, stir-fried rice cakes. Eat whatever you want.”

At a loss for words, Huang Zhilei had to drop the idea of playing matchmaker.

“Come and eat,” Gao Zhaocheng called his junior sister over.

Xie Wanying was making a call to Teacher Sun. Li Qi’an had eaten, no need for more. Sun Yubo replied on the phone, “I’ve eaten already. I was just about to buy some for you.” She also texted Zhao Zhaowei not to buy her breakfast.

“Here, eat,” Gao Zhaocheng said, opening the plastic lid of the rice cake container for her.

It smelled delicious. She was almost drooling.

She picked up her chopsticks to try a bite when she heard Senior Brother Huang exclaim in surprise upon seeing someone.

“Senior Xia, when did you get here?” Huang Zhilei called out.

A male doctor entered the doorway, clearly having followed Gao Zhaocheng in; his surname was Xia, Xia Dongxian, an ICU doctor. He was about the same height as Gao Zhaocheng, with shorter hair, a slimmer face, not as pale skin, finer eyes and eyebrows, and a fairly high nose bridge. It was said he and Gao Zhaocheng were contemporaries.

“I saw your Senior Gao on the way here talking about buying stir-fried rice cakes, so I followed him over,” Xia Dongxian said.

Just hearing his voice, the bite of rice cake Xie Wanying was eating almost got stuck in her throat: Was it the same male voice that had called out to her on the second floor last night?

The incident from last night involving catching a thief had slipped her mind entirely due to attending to an emergency with bed number 23. She wondered if she needed to tell her teacher.

“Sit,” Gao Zhaocheng pulled up a chair for his classmate, while asking, “How’s the big leader doing?”

“When did you hear about it?” Xia Dongxian asked back.

“Am I not supposed to mention it?”

“When I took over the shift yesterday, things had pretty much improved. An announcement is expected today, so you guys should be able to know by now,” Xia Dongxian said.

Big leader? As Xie Wanying ate, she listened in on the hospital news her senior brothers were sharing.

“I heard that Cao Yong personally went to pick up the patient and bring them to our hospital,” Gao Zhaocheng checked if his information was correct.

“Couldn’t be helped; it was a car accident in a small town, and the patient was taken to a local hospital. The doctors there wanted to transfer the patient to us but didn’t have the technical ability, fearing they might lose the patient during the transfer. Cao Yong received President Wu’s emergency call in the early hours of the morning and went there. Cao Yong is impressive; upon reaching the small-town hospital, which didn’t have a CT scanner, he was able to determine where the bleeding was and did a brain drain on the patient first, then seeing pleural effusion, he inserted a chest drain tube right away, stabilizing the patient’s vitals before sending them back.”
