Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s Chapter 761

Chapter 761: [(761)] Performative personality Chapter 761: [(761)] Performative personality Li Yaxi’s eyes searched her face for signs of lying, but after a long search she found none and seemed to be able to breathe a sigh of relief, saying, “I don’t have a big belly like theirs.”

Xie Wanying helped her walk into the ward.

“My mom is nowhere to be found.” Li Yaxi returned to the ward, sat on the bed with her back to the other patients, and vented her frustration at her parents.

Mother Yaxi entered the ward and said to her daughter, “You stay here and get treatment. I have something to handle at the company tonight. Your dad isn’t at the company, so I need to go back and help him.”

Li Yaxi glanced at her mother.

“If you need money, just call me, and I’ll bring it to you. The main issue is that the hospital doesn’t allow family to stay,” Mother Yaxi spoke fervently to her daughter.

“If you want to go, then go,” Li Yaxi lied down on the bed and started texting with her friends on her phone.

“The doctor said you need to rest more.” Before leaving, Mother Yaxi still nagged her daughter, “Don’t keep making phone calls.

“If I don’t make calls, what am I supposed to do? I’m dying of boredom here,” Li Yaxi said. “Will you stay and chat with me?”

Mother Yaxi sighed, picked up her handbag, and left the ward.

Xie Wanying and the nurse helped the patients cover themselves with their blankets. Li Yaxi turned her head and asked them, “Didn’t they say Doctor Song was responsible for taking care of me? Where is he?”

“I’ll go find him for you. He might just be busy with another patient,” Xie Wanying said, then went out to look for Song Xueling.

In the doctor’s office, Song Xueling was sitting in front of the computer, eyes fixed on the electronic medical record displayed on the screen, as if he were transfixed by what he was seeing.

Coming in, Qiu Ruiyun patted her junior colleague’s shoulder, urging, “Go see the patient; it’s almost time to leave.”

The attending doctor for a new inpatient must complete the patient’s initial hospital examination and write the admission record within the designated time.

“Histrionic personality,” Song Xueling muttered to himself.

Qiu Ruiyun leaned in and asked, “Did you go check on her?”

One didn’t need to look closely to make a diagnosis. A young person with pancreatic cancer surely had a wildly irregular lifestyle. No doctor would feel sympathetic towards a patient whose condition was a result of their own doing. However, professional medical ethics required doctors to treat all patients equally.

“Doctor Song,” Xie Wanying came in and found him, “Bed 21’s patient wants to see you.”

“Hmm.” He had to meet her eventually, so Song Xueling stood up.

The others saw his silhouette as usual and didn’t sense there would be any problem. Xie Wanying thought that with the capable Doctor Song going there, the patient should feel at ease.

Upon arriving at the ward, Song Xueling stood at the foot of the bed.

When Li Yaxi saw his handsome features, she was pleasantly surprised her attending doctor was another good-looking guy; she raised her eyebrows and smiled, “Are you Doctor Song? What kind of exams do I need to have now that I’m hospitalized?”

Zhao Zhaowei, who had sneaked in to watch the commotion, thought that the folks in Beidu were going to have trouble now. His classmate Lin Hao had nearly been driven mad by this woman during his time in General Surgery Department Two. Song Xueling probably had no means to handle her.

Li Yaxi shuffled closer to greet him, tilted her head up, and as she looked into Doctor Song’s deep brown eyes, which were beautiful enough to make her heart flutter, she suddenly felt a chill run through her after staring for too long. Her lips began to quiver, “Song, Doctor Song?”

“Your illness–” Song Xueling had just uttered these three words.

Before him, Li Yaxi suddenly went dark in the eyes and collapsed.

The nurse ran to the doctor’s office calling for help, “Something’s happened!”
