“Just because you say it’s not true doesn’t make it so,” challenged He Guangyou and his group, “Are you very close to her friend?”
“Because I saw her current expression, which fully explains that it’s not true,” Yin Fengchun said, with a sharp gaze fixing on the traces Xie Wanying tried to conceal on her face.
Xie Wanying breathed in, maintaining her composure.
She had hoped her childhood friend would find love again soon after hearing from her senior that her friend might have a secret crush on someone, so she was optimistic about it. “If you don’t tell me, I will go back and ask her myself!” Yin Fengchun said, putting his hands in the pockets of his white coat, turned to leave, his back carrying a hint of determination.
“Wait,” Xie Wanying raised her head.
Yin Fengchun turned back, squinting at her, “So you want to talk now, do you?”
Pushing through the others, no longer caring about what they might think, Xie Wanying said, “Doctor Yin, may I have a word with you in private?”
They immediately left the crowd and went to talk in the fire escape passage. The rest of the group looked at each other and, without agreement, tiptoed after them.
After closing the fire door, Yin Fengchun said, “Speak, what’s the issue with her?”
