Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s Chapter 827

Chapter 827: Worrying about my senior fellow disciple [827] Chapter 827: Worrying about my senior fellow disciple [827] Cao Yong felt an unprecedented pressure and estimated he was already breaking out in a sweat on his back, unable to withstand her scrutinizing gaze.

“Is that so?” Xie Wanying said with a sense of guilt. She could imagine she had no idea Cao Yong had hurt his shoulder and arm because he fell while saving her, which is why when she mentioned Senior Cao’s shoulder, a bunch of teachers diagnosed that she was unconscious at the time.

Cao Yong turned his head back and said to her, “This has nothing to do with you.”

“Senior, did you get an X-ray?”

“It’s just a scrape, don’t worry about it.”

Cao Yong smiled, revealing two small dimples, and patted her head again, “I’m really fine.”

Touched on the head by Senior Cao, Xie Wanying realized she had committed the same “foolish” act as Senior Brother Huang. Indeed, how could she talk about asking Senior Cao to take off his clothes to check his shoulder in front of everyone?

She was bound to stay in the hospital for observation that night. Xie Wanying thought about why Teacher Tan’s words had pulled her back into the memories from before her rebirth; it was very likely someone had said the same thing to her before she was reborn. Who might it be?

It was very likely, as with Teacher Tan, a doctor who said, “Are you okay?” in a similar situation, otherwise it wouldn’t have triggered her memory.

Every morning, the inpatient wards were busy. The night shift nurses had to draw blood and carry out various nursing duties for the patients early in the morning. One could hear the sound of treatment carts rolling over the tiled floors in the corridors, coming and going. Unless someone was a particularly heavy sleeper, it was quite normal to be awoken early.

After being forced by her seniors and teachers to spend the night on an extra bed in the neurosurgery department, Xie Wanying got up to wash herself and prepared to go to the ICU.

Huang Zhilei, who was on the night shift, knocked on the door and upon seeing her awake said, “Wait a while and have breakfast with Senior Cao.”

As it was late last night, Cao Yong too had slept in the on-call room of the department. Those in the know were aware that he stayed to sleep here for her.

After breakfast arrived, Xie Wanying went to Senior Cao’s office to eat.

Familiar after a first and second visit, she was really accustomed to the seniors’ offices. While the two seniors were busy with other things, she boiled a kettle of water first. The seniors had a habit of drinking something after breakfast in addition to eating, in order to keep their spirits up.

“I went up to the ICU twice last night before I went to sleep, and again around five o’clock this morning. Basically, she’s awake now,” Huang Zhilei reported on the night shift as he and Cao Yong walked into the office.

Senior Brother Huang was referring to the condition of a childhood friend, and Xie Wanying turned to ask, “Can I go see her?”

“Eat breakfast first, and we’ll go together.” Knowing she couldn’t wait, Cao Yong nodded.

The three of them sat down to eat breakfast together. Soon, the class leader arrived.

Yue Wentong knocked on the office door and came in.

“Have you eaten?” Huang Zhilei asked the intern.

“I have,” Yue Wentong said, standing to the side waiting to see if there were any tasks for the day.

“Today should be quiet. You go to the ward first and check on a few of our patients,” Huang Zhilei assigned him a task.

Upon receiving the command, Yue Wentong turned and walked out, not forgetting to take a glance at his classmate on the way out.

It’s alright. Xie Wanying waved to the class leader.

Cao Yong looked at her head, examining her words and actions carefully again to make sure her head hadn’t been injured last night.

“Senior Cao, how’s your hand?” Xie Wanying was also observing how Senior’s injuries were.

“The skin isn’t even scraped, the flesh here is thick,” Cao Yong said.

Xie Wanying thought to herself, wondering if she could stretch out her hand to feel Senior Cao’s shoulder to see if it really was thick and to put her mind at ease.
