The reason the gauze would stick to the wound was that the blood, having soaked into it and then dried, caused the adhesion, and at this point, soaking it in saline or iodophor could facilitate its removal.
Medical students observing from the sidelines whispered among themselves:
“So that’s how it’s done, soaking with saline.”
This indicated that many medical students, new to clinical practice, didn’t understand this procedure.
Upon hearing this, Doctor Wang frowned: How did this female medical student already know? Wasn’t it her first day on duty with Huang Zhilei?
As Director Lv watched on, he looked over at Doctor Wang.
Doctor Wang shook his head to indicate confusion about the situation.
After soaking the gauze, the removal had to be quick, otherwise, it would stick again. Thinking she was, the patient smiled, “The students of Director Lv are as impressive as Director Lv himself.”

“Lidocaine?” asked the nurse.
“Yes. Lidocaine doesn’t require a skin test,” Director Lv found his rhythm again in the conversation with the nurse, and said to the patient, “This wound is not deep, two stitches should suffice, don’t worry.”
“Xie Xie, Director Lv,” the female patient was glad to hear from the doctor that it wasn’t serious.
