"That’s quite a generous amount," Han Qiwu exclaimed, surprised. If he were counting by bowls, it could serve at least five.
Han Qiwu picked up a bowl of buffalo milk and took a careful sip.
Fresh buffalo milk tasted very different from box milk—it was slightly creamy but not sticky like yogurt. To describe it in detail, its texture felt like a soft milk candy.
It carried no apparent scent but revealed a faint sweetness as soon as you drank it—the more you drank, the more you wanted.
"This buffalo milk tastes amazing. I wonder if something got treated while passing through the milking basin." Han Qiwu speculated. He’d had fresh cow’s milk once before, but the flavor was so off-putting that the average person couldn’t get it down. It was nothing compared to this buffalo milk.
After finishing a bowl of buffalo milk, Han Qiwu grabbed the Thunder Milk nearby, poured out a bowl, and sipped it slowly.
Maybe because of the electrical treatment, Thunder Milk was a bit lighter in texture and closer to the consistency of box milk. Its aroma was rich and enticing, and the taste was creamy with a subtle electric tingle.
Both types of milk had their unique charm.
Han Qiwu stored the remaining milk in bottles, planning to take them fishing later.

After watching TV, he cycled off toward the blacksmith’s shop.
On his way through town, he happened to see Aunt Hong Mei, whom he hadn’t seen in days, and called out cheerfully, "Aunt Hong Mei, where have you been recently?"
"I just got back from picking mushrooms in the mountains. You get more on rainy days. Want some?" Aunt Hong Mei replied with a smile, warmly offering her basket.
"No need," Han Qiwu waved dismissively, pulling a bottle of buffalo milk from his storage compartment and placing it in her basket.
"What’s this? Tofu pudding?" Aunt Hong Mei asked curiously.
Han Qiwu chuckled, "Buffalo milk. A friend sent it, said it’s a new variety. Please give it a try."
"Well, thank you, then! Auntie will enjoy this treat," Aunt Hong Mei replied with a laugh.
"By the way, Auntie, are there still fresh sugarcanes around here?" Han Qiwu asked curiously.
Aunt Hong Mei glanced at the sky thoughtfully, "Let me think."
After some consideration, she clapped her thigh, "Ah, my memory! My cousin’s family cultivates sugarcane. They’re likely still growing in greenhouses—should still be fresh."
"That’s great! Could you take me there?" Han Qiwu asked excitedly.
