Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God Chapter 658

"If there is anything you need, milady, just give the order, and I can have it all prepared for you," Gaven said.

Although it was just a fleeting glimpse, in that abandoned Mage Tower, aside from daily necessities, Gaven also saw a large number of documents and books. It was obvious that Philancy hadn’t been idle, actively seeking a way to save herself. It seemed that before she had no particular direction, and she tried to gather anything useful, hoping to find a needle in a haystack.

"I need at least a month’s supply of provisions, the kind that’s easy to store," Philancy said without any hesitation.

"That’s easy," Gaven happily agreed and then couldn’t help but ask curiously, "With your Professional Level, do all spells easily go haywire in the Land of Mist? Even the Water Creation Spell and Food Creation Spell fail to work?"

The Water Creation Spell is a Zero Ring Cantrip, and the Food Creation Spell is a third-ring Spell.

Both are not difficult to perform and are essential spells for many Spellcasters, designed to prevent starvation and dehydration, just like what Philancy was experiencing, after being trapped and facing the risk of starving to death.

For a Transcendent Caster, dying from such causes would be a joke.

"Casting spells below the fifth ring, as long as I’m cautious, doesn’t affect me much," Philancy said with a sneer, "Try eating food created by the Food Creation Spell for years on end."

"Ah... I see," Gaven nodded in understanding.

The food produced by the Food Creation Spell is similar to a nutritional meal, sufficient in nutrients, but bland and tasteless. It isn’t terrible, but it’s certainly not delicious either.

It’s fine for emergencies, but if one were to rely on it as a staple food for a long time, it indeed becomes hard to bear.

"By the way, I wonder if this could be used in the Land of Mist," Gaven said, taking out a tablecloth.

It was the Fairy Tablecloth, which, like the Food Creation Spell, conjured delicious food out of thin air every day. It was especially good at producing various fruits from the Fairy Wilderness, much loved by the children of Anfield Village, particularly the Fairy Apple.

Although rare, when compared with the friendship of a Legendary Spellcaster, Gaven knew what was more significant.

Philancy shook her head and said, "These kinds of summoning Magic Items won’t work. The slightest carelessness could result in all sorts of strange beings intruding."

"Then, how about I prepare a few Gnoll servants for you? With their assistance, many things would become much simpler," Gaven offered another suggestion.

Still shaking her head, Philancy said, "I’ve already tried that. Non-living things can be successfully brought back, but living creatures vanish without trace once they enter the Land of Mist, as if the Mage Tower is shrouded by the Law of Solitude, which doesn’t allow any other living things to enter. Even the monsters are not truly living beings. The fact that your consciousness can enter is the only exception."

In an effort to alleviate her loneliness, Philancy had clearly tried many things already, and Gaven’s suggestions were nothing new to her.

"It seems I’ve underestimated the Half-Plane of Fear," Gaven surmised, "So you can’t cast the Teleportation Spell either, milady?"

"It’s not that I can’t cast it, but once I do, no matter the destination, I’ll be sent straight back to the Land of Mist," Philancy sighed, "So, don’t expect me to be able to do much for you, because wherever I am, I will inevitably be pulled back to the Land of Mist by dawn. If I use a powerful spell, like a ninth-ring Spell, I’ll be pulled back after casting no more than two."

She was well aware of what Gaven hoped to gain from her.

But her situation was such that she could only operate within the confines of a night’s stay at the inn, and her strength was relatively limited.

That was also why her search for a way out was progressing extremely slowly.

"Understood," Gaven wasn’t too disappointed, after all, he hadn’t even imagined that the Weeping Witch would be a Legendary Spellcaster. Now, receiving her initial goodwill was a pleasant surprise.

Besides, even though under many constraints, she still was a Legendary Spellcaster, and the assistance she could provide was not limited to combat power—her knowledge was a valuable treasure as well.

An Arcane Soul Tower had already advanced his strength to a new stage.

And she surely had more to offer than just that; once he could unearth it all, how great would the value be?

For the following five days, Gaven was practically living night and day, spending entire nights in the basement of the nearly-repaired Stone Stallion Inn, engaging in deep conversations with Philancy.

One was eager to please and flatter, seeking knowledge with an open heart.

The other desired to learn more useful information about the outside world.

The atmosphere was extremely friendly, and their relationship warmed rapidly. In just five short days, they became as comfortable with each other as old friends of five years, talking about everything and anything.

From Philancy, Gaven acquired a vast amount of Spellcasting knowledge, much of it not modern but rather belonging to Nesserel Arcanists.

Just as Gaven had guessed, Philancy was indeed not an ordinary Mage but a Legendary Arcanist, with a heritage from the most orthodox school of Nesserel. However, she refused to discuss her lineage and avoided talking about the Nesserel Magic Book she had.

Understandingly, Gaven didn’t push on these sensitive topics, given that their relationship had not yet reached that stage.

Besides, her understanding of the profession of Arcane Adept far exceeded that of most Mages. Since it was not her profession, however, the insights she provided were theoretical.
