The opponent was a servant of the Demon Lord reputed as the most powerful in the Abyss, and even the slightest thing that spilled between his fingers was not something ordinary people could endure.
What mattered most was that Gaven could not trust the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow as he trusted Kellysha, to fight side by side with it.
Although she was now under his control, her own will was still present.
If she became desperate and no longer wished to live and intentionally lost to the opponent, wouldn’t it drag him down too?
Let them fight each other first.
Gaven’s concern was somewhat superfluous.
Demons were famously chaotic and goofy, sometimes doing things that harm themselves as well as others, but they would never, out of revenge against an enemy, go so far as to stake their own lives.
The present Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow was far more afraid of death because she was unclear about what her situation would be like if she died in her current condition.
She didn’t think she could return to the Abyss; it was more likely she would enter eternal death.
Thus, even when facing the power projection of her former master, she had no choice but to fight to the death.
Once they clashed, she realized that this imposing Demon Prince’s power projection was somewhat hollow, and when its thick tentacles struck her, it was only enough to barely break through her defenses, mostly dealing three to four points of damage, with not many over ten points.
But the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow was not the kind to take hits without retaliating. The wind-tight dance of her six Serpent Hilt Curved Swords was like slicing vegetables, chopping the opponent’s tentacles into several pieces.
However, at the severed locations, flesh buds intertwined and regrew new tentacles at a horrifying speed.
Kodi Koli the Great now not only possessed Di Gaomorgan’s form and abilities but also retained the Troll’s most potent regenerative ability, and was no longer afraid of fire, at least fire could not inhibit his regeneration.
"How is this possible? Why is the power of the Abyssal King so feeble? Why?" Kodi Koli the Great roared incredulously while launching a frenzied attack.
He was supposed to have the strength to overwhelm the opponent, so why was he only inflicting such little damage?
However, the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow was quicker to realize what was going on and sneered, "It’s not that the Abyssal King’s power is weak, but that you, this fool, are incredibly unlucky. You’ve encountered me with an Undead Body; the Abyssal King’s best abilities like Withering, Energy Drain, Mad Gaze, Deceptive Gaze, and Hypnotic Gaze are all useless against me. In a simple brawl, you’re just too weak..."
The Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow wasn’t usually so talkative, especially not when it came to rambling explanations to her enemies, which was even rarer.
Her swords were much quicker than her tongue.
Her unusual verbosity today had a feeling of the unpredictability of life.
If she had still been in her physical form, facing Di Gaomorgan’s incarnation, even if she hadn’t turned and run away in fright, the battle would not have been easy. She would, at least, not dare to let his attacks land on her.
Especially the attack from the tentacle arms, which would infuse the Withering Power into the attacked target’s body, causing withering of the flesh and bones, directly damaging the Constitution. Once the Constitution dropped to a certain point, it would become brittle like dregs, shattering at a touch.
His tail tentacles would drain the Professional Level of his victims to heal his body.
In comparison, Mad Gaze, Deceptive Gaze, and Hypnotic Gaze were relatively easier to deal with.
Now all these abilities were negated by a body made of Negative Energy. Without flesh and bone, and lacking Constitution, where could Withering take hold?
She was now a highly concentrated entity of Negative Energy, and her attacks faintly carried the ability to Drain Energy. How could she be susceptible to energy drain?
The three Gaze attacks targeted the Soul and were less affected by a Negative Energy body, but these attacks were also closely related to the caster’s soul strength.
One cast by Di Gaomorgan himself and by Kodi Koli the Great could not be compared to one another, making it difficult to affect the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow effectively.
No wonder the Lord of the Abyss valued the power of the Undead so highly, even daring to steal the secret of the Blood Lord Okas’s craft of Death Knights, to create a group of Death Knights to guard himself. It turns out an Undead Body was a significant nemesis to many of his abilities, which was an unexpected discovery.
Kodi Koli the Great roared furiously, "We possess an Undead Body, and even if it exhausts me, I’ll drain you to death. Die, die, die..."
The room reverberated with the crackling sounds of his wildly thrashing tentacles.
"Undead Body, not necessarily, right? You’re just a borrower of strength; you actually thought you became the Abyssal King!" Gaven returned and began tossing Dragon Tremor Bombs all around the room.
With a series of booming explosions, those twisted, disgusting flesh runes were blasted to pieces.
"Ah..." Kodi Koli the Great stiffened for a moment and let out a piercing scream, his form constantly shifting; one moment his head resembled that of a baboon, the next a Troll, and his arms switched between tentacles and those of a Troll.
Gaven guessed correctly; the Sacrificial Array was the key to defeating it. If Kodi had been as powerful as he claimed, he would have struck before they advanced, rather than waiting for them to enter the room.
