466 Split It Up
Xue Da was lying on a recliner in the room, fanning himself with a fan. The old man was feeling uncomfortable from the heat, so when he saw them, he quickly sat up.

Qian Caiyu had already poured all the ice into a big basin, which was placed on the stool next to the recliner. This was a basin specially used to store ice. These days, every time she brought ice to Grandpa, she would pour it into this basin.
This basin would be placed beside her grandfather’s bed at night. The weather was getting hotter and hotter, and he was having trouble sleeping from the heat. If she placed a basin of ice beside his bed, it would more or less cool the room down.

She knew that the old man was still eating the ice, so she put down her fan and sat on the chair beside Xue Yan.
Xue Xiaobao couldn’t sit still. He stood up while eating his popsicle, poking the ice in the basin with his little hand, and then laughed. “It’s cold! I want to sleep with you tonight!”
Last night, Xue Xiaobao had slept with Xue Da. Because Xue Da’s room had ice and it was night, without the continuous exposure to the sun during the day, it was naturally much cooler than the other rooms.
