Sylvan Cheney’s suit jacket and shirt were still tossed on the floor.
Suddenly, Jasmine Yale looked down and saw that a piece of paper had fallen out of his suit pocket.
She bent over to pick it up.
The paper was a neat square, torn from a notebook.
The elegant English script on it read: You are an elegant gentleman, thank you.
Behind the English words, a smiling face was drawn.
The handwriting was exceptionally beautiful, making Jasmine Yale feel a bit ashamed at her own.
She stared at the English writing for a long time, with a dazed look in her eyes, and an indescribable feeling.
She was reminded of their conversation just now.
“You smell strongly of perfume.”
“I wasn’t with another woman.”
The perfume scent on the paper was exactly the same as the one on Sylvan Cheney’s suit.

She folded the note and put it back into Sylvan Cheney’s suit pocket.
It’s not right to mess with other people’s things after all.
Outside, the rain kept pouring relentlessly. A fierce wind stirred, causing leaves to rub against the ground, making a rustling sound.
Apart from the sounds of the wind and rain, the villa was quiet inside and out.
Jasmine Yale opened the window, and a gust of cold wind poured in, messing her hair.
“Cough cough.” She frowned and coughed, quickly closing the window.
The sound of running water from the bathroom abruptly stopped, and Sylvan Cheney wrapped in a towel stepped out.
“This weather is so cold, are you trying to kill yourself, opening the window?” He went over and pulled her into his embrace.
“I just wanted to see how heavy the rain was outside.”
“Headstrong.” He gently touched her eyebrows, “Go take a bath, and get some early sleep. Tomorrow is the weekend, I’ll stay home with you.”
“I want to ask you something.”
“What did you say to Little Chale tonight? He came back crying, saying you’re going to send him away, is it true?”
“You believe what a three-year-old said?”
“But Little Chale doesn’t lie.”
“This is none of your business, you don’t need to worry about it.” Sylvan Cheney said indifferently, “He is my own son, how could I possibly give him away?”
Jasmine Yale didn’t ask any further. Since he told her not to intervene, she decided she wouldn’t.
She broke free from Sylvan Cheney’s embrace, retook her pajamas from the wardrobe, and ran barefoot to the bathroom to take a bath.
But what Jasmine Yale did not expect was that two days later, an incident would happen to Chale Cheney.
At noon, she was eating at the Respected Majesty’s canteen.
“Jasmine, try these ribs I bought. They are so delicious, I queued up for half an hour.” Xara sat beside her.
“A big foodie! You stood in line for half an hour just to get some ribs?”
“Yes, you must try it, it’s really tasty.”
Jasmine Yale took a bite, indeed, the ribs were fragrant and chewy.
“Actually, it wasn’t me who queued, my boyfriend bought it, he specifically brought it over for me.” Xara laughed, “He is really sweet to me.”
“I knew it, your boyfriend is really good to you.”
“Yes! He is really good to me. These past days it’s been raining, has it not? I have been working overtime at the company, and he’s come to keep me company.”
“Do you guys…fight?” Jasmine Yale asked suddenly.
“No, we don’t fight, we just started dating not long ago, it’s still very sweet. He is especially good at calming me down, always saying sweet words. Even if I fight with him sometimes, he never gets angry, always coaxing me to cheer up again.” Xara said, “That’s what being in love is like. Have you never been in love, Jasmine?”
Jasmine Yale shook her head: “No, I haven’t.”
She didn’t even know what sweet words were.
