Fated love: the unwanted bride Chapter 819

Chapter 818: Chapter 818: Naive and Lively

He hoped that there would be news before dawn.

Lilac Serval’s heart finally settled as she sat restlessly in her hotel room, unable to sleep at all.

She felt not a hint of sleepiness.

She always hoped to help out somehow.

Now, having heard this news, she could finally rest easy.

Her beautiful eyes sparkled, resembling the lustrous sheen on leaves washed by rain.

“Lilac, when are you returning to Lonton?” Sylvan Cheney asked suddenly after taking a drag of his cigarette.

“I bought a ticket for the day after tomorrow, but if you have any other instructions, I can stay in Landon longer.”

Sylvan seemed thoughtful.

“Mr. Cheney, is there a problem?” Lilac asked, surprised.

She was always unrestricted under Sylvan’s command and moved freely.

Sylvan never cared about her schedule.

Lilac waited for Sylvan’s response.

But there was silence on the other end, no sound for a long time.

Lilac did not dare hang up the phone; she quietly waited for Sylvan’s reply.

Eventually, a low, raspy voice came through—

“Buy another ticket, take Chale with you.”

“Mr. Cheney, are you sending him to the training grounds in Lonton?” Lilac asked softly.

She had heard about it, as Spencer Childe had always wanted to send Little Chale Cheney there.

The Childe family’s children indeed needed to go there for training from a young age.

Like Charles Mcintosh, who had been with Sylvan since childhood, also went for training.

She heard that Sylvan had been sent there when he was just two and a half years old.

Charles went later but did not exceed the age of five.

She, an orphan, was picked up by a master from the training ground and also went through inhumane training.

That period was cruel and harsh; even thinking about it now made her shudder.

They had to wake up very early in the morning; in the winter, they could only wash their faces with cold water.

She still remembered having to train even during the unbearable heat of summer; if anyone fainted from heatstroke, the master would douse them with a bucket of cold water and have them continue training once awakened.

In the snowy winter, their fingers turned red from the cold, but they could not relax or rest.

The training was even more stringent for boys; they trained from dawn to dusk without seeing the sun.

Sylvan’s childhood was mostly spent there, and when he grew older, he returned to Landon.

It was similar for Charles; he trained day and night at the training ground until he turned ten, then it changed to only during the winter and summer vacations.

Her situation was different; she was an orphan brought from the orphanage by the master and lived continuously at the training ground.

Hence, she had absolutely no opportunity to study; it was all training.

However, the master was not cruel, considering that she was a girl, he was somewhat lenient.

Yet, whether it was due to talent or physical stature—

Her training time was similar to that of Charles and the others, but her skills were not as good as Charles’s.

She was not satisfied, not at all satisfied!

If she could be just slightly stronger than him, she wouldn’t have been suppressed to this extent.

Over the years, she never relaxed her standards for herself, often visiting the master on her own.

Their master had aged, and the training ground had many new teachers.

But their master was still the strongest, most skilled of all the trainers at the training ground!

She knew this was an inevitable path for Mr. Cheney’s son.

Thinking of Little Chale Cheney, Lilac didn’t know what to say.

The little guy was naive and lively, completely different from Sylvan’s personality.

The children at the Lonton training ground, when they first arrived, were also lively and cute.

But a few years later, they all came out prematurely aged.
