Sylvan Cheney scoffed, not deigning to answer any of Joe Heath’s questions.

Joe Heath had been his childhood friend, indeed, and had helped him when he was hunted by enemies during his three years in Lonton.
But that did not mean Joe Heath could meddle in his emotional life.

“If you really love her, you should think more about her. You have a son to protect, a corporation to guard, as well as a vast family and business to oversee; how much attention can you spare for Jasmine?”
“Brother, have you truly considered her situation? She’s still so young; she shouldn’t have to die because of you!”
“Brother, even if you can protect her, do you have the energy to make her happy like an ordinary boyfriend or husband, to take her out, to indulge in her whims, to laugh with her? You just can’t do that!”
Joe Heath knew his older brother all too well.
His nature was domineering, his temper fierce; even without other distractions, he could not lower himself to cajole a woman.
It was in his character.
Jasmine Yale was still young, having just stepped out of the university campus, her heart desperately craving protection.
She was inherently insecure and lacked self-esteem, her inner world barren.
She needed someone to let flowers blossom within her heart, not an executioner to crush them.
Sylvan Cheney clearly lacked this patience.
The voice of Joe Heath rose, echoing through the hallway.
Sylvan Cheney watched him coldly, his face calm, “Are you done? If so, get lost.”
Joe Heath was infuriated!
