“With me around, you can do bad stuff. You can be as terrible as you like—you can commit murder, you can commit arson, but I must be by your side. I said this before, if you kill the person, I will bury the body. If your hands must be stained with blood, then I’ll be with you,” said Yue Tingfeng earnestly, looking at Yan Qingsi with firm resolution.
He did not care if Yan Qingsi committed crimes. He was scared that she would never return to him if she did it herself.
Yue Tingfeng did not care about tainted morals or about karma. He just wanted Yan Qingsi to think of him immediately whenever she did something. He wanted her to think of him no matter what she did, whether right or wrong.
Yan Qingsi’s eyes burned with tears. “All right. Next time…” she said. “I’ll tell you. No matter what I do.”
It was already about three or four o’clock in the afternoon. The streets were practically devoid of people and cars roared through the streets. The sun shone brightly in the sky, and the temperature was swelteringly hot. The weather reports said that Hai city would be having a hot spell throughout the day and advised citizens to take precautions against it.
The asphalt roads outside looked as though they were going to melt under the heat. Yan Qingsi felt like she could feel the heat just by looking at it.
Yue Tingfeng clutched her hand tightly. Her hand was not as smooth and flawless as other girls’. It still looked pretty, yes, but there were plenty of microscopic scars from up close. That was not a pair of delicate hands, and it almost hurts to hold them.
Yue Tingfeng still maintained a vice-like grip, as though he had no intention of letting go.
Yan Qingsi never felt this peaceful before. Her eyes wandered outside the window.
Yue Tingfeng’s eyes were trained on the road in front of him. They did not look at each other, but they sensed what was going on in each other’s minds.
This was probably their most intimate moment since they were together all this while.
They arrived at their hotel, and soon after, Yan Qingsi received a call from Ji Mianmian.
“Hello? Mianmian, what’s going on…”
“Sis, where are you? You’re not in your room,” Ji Mianmian asked with an anxious tone.
Guilt nibbled at Yan Qingsi. She was fortunate to have such thoughtful people around her. “Oh, I went to the hospital. I’m sorry I forgot to tell you,” she said.
“No problem, no problem…It’s just that… Sis, there’s another scandal involving you on the net!”
“Really? That’s normal,” Yan Qingsi laughed. “I’d say that it wasn’t normal if I didn’t have a scandal going on…”
“The articles said that you were a diva,” Ji Mianmian huffed angrily. “They also said that you beat up a co-star, didn’t respect the filming crew, left the crew without informing, and delayed the shooting schedule. The woman you beat up even went to the hospital to get a check-up. She posted two photos on the net: one was of her face, another…was a hospital report…

Yan Qingsi laughed as she took in the information. “How terrible could this be? I did beat her up…I did leave the set, and I did delay the shooting schedule. They’re telling the truth.”
This was nothing compared to when she slept around, selling her body for a living, cheating, and learning all the unspoken rules to climb her way up the ladders of society.
“Sis, you have such a great attitude… Is should learn from you,” said Ji Mianmian.
“I’ll be back soon. Don’t worry,” Yan Qingsi consoled her.
“What? You’re coming back soon?” Ji Mianmian shrieked into the phone. “No, no… You can’t come back…”
