Chapter 660: You’re Fooling Around Outside When I’m Not Around
“Sure.”
Yan Qingsi hesitated for a moment, then dialed Yue Tingfeng’s number.
It took a while before he picked up the phone.
“Hello…”
Yan Qingsi heard noises, laughter, and music in the background. Yan Qingsi took a quick glance at the time. ‘Damn it. It’s past midnight and this guy is fooling around outside while I was almost…’
Yan Qingsi sneered, “Where are you? Are you fooling around without a care since I’m not around?”
At first, he thought he was hearing things, but he recognized Yan Qingsi’s voice. He took a quick look at the number and he was right, it was not hers.
“Qingsi, is that you?”
“Are you so high that you can’t recognize my voice?”
Upon hearing Yan Qingsi’s sarcastic reply, Yue Tingfeng quickly exited the private room and explained, “I’m here today to discuss an M&A case. I’m at the Jade Orchid Pavilion, not some random place. Do you really think that I’m the type of person who would fool around behind your back?”
“That you’ll have to ask yourself.” Yan Qingsi’s voice was cold. Humans tended to show their true nature to those closest to them.
Yan Qingsi was naturally unhappy. Who knew what did? Even if he was there only for a business meeting.
When a person wanted something badly enough, they tend to ignore the consequences.
Yue Tingfeng sensed Yan Qingsi’s agitation. He rubbed his pulsating temple and softened his tone, “Dear, what’s wrong? Did something bad happen? I called you many times on the phone but you didn’t answer. Whose number is this?”
Yan Qingsi took a deep breath. She should not be angry at Yue Tingfeng. Calming herself, she said, “I lost my phone, then borrowed a phone and called you. If you have nothing to say I’ll end the call now.”
Yan Qingsi did not dare carry on. She was afraid that she might get more irritated the longer this conversation carried on. She had to control her own temper.
Yue Tingfeng scowled, saying, “Qingsi, wait a moment. Please let me know what happened?”
Yan Qingsi shook her head. “It’s nothing. I’ll be back in a few days and tell you then. Let me get a new phone and give you my new number. That’s all. Oh, right. This is not my phone, so you don’t have to call back.”
Yan Qingsi did not give Yue Tingfeng the chance to speak and ended the call.
She returned the phone to Song Qingyan, “Sorry for taking up so much of your time.”
Song Qingyan smiled gently, “You’re welcome.”
Earlier he was watching her and had noticed that Yan Qingsi was emotionally distraught. She was holding in her emotions, as though she had just gone through some traumatic event.
Song Qingyan did not leave immediately but asked, “You seem to have a lot on your mind. Is there anything I can do?”
Yan Qingsi shrugged, “It’s nothing much. I was just overthinking some things and stressed myself out.”
Song Qingyan replied, “Stress is something self-inflicted, however, only when a person is stressed would that person improve. People with dreams are usually like that.”
Yan Qingsi smiled, “These words…they make sense. However, my stress seems to only turn me into a worse person.”
Vengeance was what caused her stress. She was constantly plotting against her enemies.
Song Qingyan paused for a moment, then answered, “You…are actually amazing. In the entertainment industry, you are the most unique person I have ever seen.”
