Yan Qingsi took a glance at the object on the ground then proceeded to bend over and pick it up.
Curious to know what was in it, she opened up that box and was completely gobsmacked to find that there was nothing in it. As she was ready to rant, a thud could be heard as something fell into that empty box she was holding onto.
Staring right back at Yan Qingsi was a necklace. It was a thin and intricately made necklace and hanging in between the thin thread-like chain were 4 letters, QS.TF. On the surface of those letters were intricately decorated by a layer of shaved diamonds and in between, was a pink diamond carved into the shape of a heart.
Under the reflected rays of light, the entirety of the necklace was glittered and shone brightly as light passed through it.
Yan Qingsi knew exactly what those letters meant with just a single look. Those four letters were abbreviations of both Qingsi and Tingfeng’s names.
Qingsi hearts Tingfeng.
Squeezing the necklace tightly in her hand, as Yan Qingsi’s mind took her back to the moment she had that mango juice. Seemingly giving her the same sweetness in her mouth as it coursed through her heart.
Yan Qingsi playfully ran her fingers across the entire length of the necklace. She focused on the uneven texture of the jewelry that was embedded in the necklace then said, “So is this my boyfriend?”
Yue Tingfeng nodded and replied, “Of course, hurry up and put on your boyfriend.”
Yan Qingsi lowered her head and said, “But… I…”
“But what?” Yue Tingfeng asked.
Yue Tingfeng proceeded to snatch the necklace out of Yan Qingsi’s grasp as he pressed onto her shoulder, lifting the back of her hair slightly as he proceeded to put it on for her. He commented, “Not bad.”
Yue Tingfeng lifted his chin slightly while looking directly at Yan Qingsi with an arrogant and prideful look, seemingly waiting for praise from her.
Instead, she proceeded to ask, “When did you buy it?”
Yue Tingfeng rolled his eyes and teasingly said, “Just now… at the stall nearby for 10 bucks.”
Yan Qingsi laughed and replied, “So, you’re saying that I’m only worth 10 bucks then?”
“Of course…” Yue Tingfeng replied.
“You…” Yan Qingsi said.
Yue Tingfeng squeezed Yan Qingsi’s hands tightly and said, “That 10 bucks was all the money I had on me at the time.”
Upon hearing that, the edge of Yan Qingsi’s mouth twitched a little as she felt tears welling up on the corners of her eyes slightly. She asked, “But, I happen to want your entire inheritance and assets that you have. What do I do then?”
Yue Tingfeng shuddered a little. However, after a couple of minutes, he felt his ears started to flush red. He said, “Yan Qingsi, are you proposing to me now? You’ll have to give me some heads up first.”
Yan Qingsi was shocked at his remark. She said, “When did I propose to you?”
Yue Tingfeng frantically said in response, “Just now, wanting everything I have and was worth would by default be a proposal don’t you think? Marrying me, be Madam Yue, by default would give you everything Yue family had ever owned. If this wasn’t a proposal then what is? Hey now, Yan Qingsi, you can’t take back what had been spoken now.”
Yan Qingsi’s jaw was opened as wide as she physically could. As she thought to herself, ‘This… This…’
‘Even if I was swindled it would never be to this extent.’
Yue Tingfeng was seemingly deep in his thoughts. After much consideration, he said, “Since you’re so excited, then it has been decided, I’ll let my mother know when we get back. We’ll let her arrange an amazing date for our wedding.”
Yan Qingsi… Were you now aware of who was the excited one now?
“I…” Yan Qingsi muttered.
“Alright, you don’t have to say anything. I know you’re excited, we’ll talk about it when we get back. The necklace, on the other hand, is it pretty enough for you?” Yue Tingfeng said.
Yan Qingsi simply licked the edge of her lips as she lowered her head to give the necklace a quick look. She threw the question back at him, teasingly asked, “Do you think it looks good on me?”
Yue Tingfeng nodded in agreement. He replied, “It looks amazing… absolutely gorgeous.”
Yue Tingfeng was desperately waiting for his shameless praise, however, Yan Qingsi’s lips were sealed. No longer able to contain his inflated ego, he asked, “Come on now, give me some credit would you?”
Yan Qingsi chuckled in response. She asked, “What is there to praise for?”
Yue Tingfeng rubbed his nose and shamelessly exclaimed, “Just praise me… praise me… about, Just praise me about how awesome I am…”
Upon hearing his statement, Yan Qingsi pointed at his nose and very slowly replied, “It’s not romantic, it’s not valuable enough, and it doesn’t even look that good. Also, the design is a little dated. I just can’t seem to find anything worthy of praise. What should I do now?”
