“Yeah.”
Yan Qingsi was so shocked she flicked Ji Mianmian on the forehead, “You silly girl, you… do you know… you… how could you let other men… Have you forgotten about what I’ve told you?”
Ji Mianmian chuckled and said “Sis, don’t worry, I only let him sleepover in my room for a night, there’s nothing to it. He slept on the bed, I slept on the sofa. I was up playing games the entire night and only went to bed in the morning.”
Yan Qingsi clenched her teeth. Just over two hours, hopefully, she’ll make it back.
Yan Qingsi took out her cell phone hurriedly to call Ye Shaoguang. However, when she went through her contact book, she realized she did not even save his number.
“Do you have Ye Shaoguang’s number?”
“Yes, yes… he left me this piece of paper.” Ji Mianmian hurriedly took out a crumpled piece of paper.
Yan Qingsi dialed in a number but paused. “Mianmian, lend me your phone.”
Ji Mianmian handed it over to her hurriedly.
Yan Qingsi used Ji Mianmian’s phone to call Ye Shaoguang. She did not use her own to avoid any troublesome complications in the future.
Ye Shaoguang picked up the phone very soon.
“Hello…”
Yan Qingsi had just said a word when Ye Shaoguang cut her off. “Come down, there is a black BMW parked opposite the hotel.”
Yan Qingsi hung up, and could not help but laugh. This Ye Shaoguang really was something…
“Mianmian, I’ll just go on my own. Wait for me at the hotel.”
“Miss Qingsi, I should go with you. This way… if we meet the boss on the way back, we can still explain it.”
“Alright, let’s go.”
Yan Qingsi quickly changed and did not bother with makeup. She put on a hat, face mask, and sunglasses, and left with the necklace in her hand.
In the elevator, Yan Qingsi asked Ji Mianmian, “Mianmian, tell me the truth, do you like Ye Shaoguang?”
Ji Mianmian answered without thinking, “No.”
Yan Qingsi thought of Ye Shaoguang. He has changed a lot, but it was a pity… the person that he wanted had never placed him in her eyes and heart.
Ji Mianmian said,[1] “Honestly, it’s better this way.” It was good to be oblivious, excellent really. One could not be hurt that way and there is no need to bother with the trouble and pain.
It was a blessing in disguise to be someone who did not know what was love.
Ji Mianmian listened in bemusement, her goddess was talking of higher concepts beyond her understanding.
Ye Shaoguang spotted Yan Qingsi and Ji Mianmian from a distance. He sighed, what was the point of bringing that silly girl?
After they got in the car, no one spoke. Ye Shaoguang immediately drove off.
The thirty-minute journey passed in silence. Ji Mianmian felt a little depressed due to the silence and wanted to speak to somebody. She looked at her goddess, and then at the demon, and thought better to keep her mouth shut.
When they arrived at the hospital, Ye Shaoguang asked Yan Qingsi, “Did you bring the necklace?”
Yan Qingsi nodded. “Yes.”
“There’s no one in the ward right now. Follow me.”
Standing in front of the door to the ward, Yan Qingsi clenched her fists, then took a deep breath and walked in.
You Xi lay in the bed, a brace around his neck. His face was still wounded and was scabbing over, while his left leg was suspended. Even though the injuries were not serious, but… the external injuries were still numerous, and he was bandaged all over. All of this… was Yan Qingsi’s doing. “In the future don’t do that okay!”
Ji Mianmian nodded, “Okay okay, I won’t do it again.”
Yan Qingsi looked at the time, it was nearly nine in the morning, Yue Tingfeng said he would be back at noon to bring her for lunch. She would have to be back by twelve in the afternoon.
