‘Because I do not know when I will die, that is why I do not know how long I can love you.’
A shiver ran throughout Yan Qingsi’s body as she heard that sentence. Something was in her eyes; when she swiped a hand across them, a sheen of wetness stained them.
Yue Tingfeng patted her gently. “Get some sleep. How can I do anything if you don’t rest well?”
Yan Qingsi turned back, burrowing her head into his arms and refusing to take it out.

Yan Qingsi awoke to a bright sky outside the window. An arm was wrapped around her waist, while her neck was resting atop another. A leg pressed atop her own legs.
She looked at the face that was merely inches away from hers. His eyes were closed, and she saw the individual lashes framing them, each one long and dark.
This was when Yan Qingsi discovered that Yue Tingfeng’s eyelashes were long.
He was still asleep. She counted the lashes one by one. Last night, she had not been able to sleep until she heard him speak those blessed words. Then she had flipped over and snuggled herself into his arms and rapidly fell asleep.
The corners of Yan Qingsi’s lips curved upwards. A warmth filled her heart till now.
She always thought that some women became idiots in love simply because of a sweet word or two from their men. They became gullible fools, their IQ levels so low that it was shocking.
Now she knew that she was one of them; no woman did not like being cajoled by their man.
Yan Qingsi lifted a hand and lightly brushed over Yue Tingfeng’s lashes. So pretty.
She felt titillated just by looking at his sleeping profile. She leaned forward and gently nipped at the edge of his lips.
The man who was asleep jolted awake. He wrapped his hands around Yan Qingsi’s waist with his eyes closed. “It’s so early. What do you want?”
Yan Qingsi lightly dragged a finger across his neck. “I’m hungry, so I’m eating you up.”
His eyes suddenly flickered open. He stared at Yan Qingsi with a fervent expression. “What did you say again?”
His mind was groggy from the sudden wakeup call. When he heard Yan Qingsi’s words, his brain could not conjure a proper response.
He thought that he heard wrongly, so he glared at her, wanting her to repeat her words to ensure that he was not going deaf.
Yan Qingsi reached over and bit on a chunk of his neck. “I’m hungry, so I want to eat you. Didn’t you say that you wanted to spoil me? Then you shouldn’t deprive me of this.”
His neck went numb. Yue Tingfeng felt as though electricity crackled in Yan Qingsi’s body; half of his body crumpled. “You—”
Yan Qingsi snaked a hand into his sleeping robe. “It’s all right,” she murmured. “You go ahead and sleep. I’ll be snacking away.”
Lucidity washed over Yue Tingfeng’s head. “Do you have no shame, woman?” he snapped, teeth clenched. “I can’t believe you just said that.”
Yan Qingsi rolled her eyes. “Aren’t you my boyfriend?”
Yue Tingfeng reached forward and grabbed Yan Qingsi’s pajamas. “Who dares to say otherwise?”
Yan Qingsi dragged a nail across Yue Tingfeng’s chest. It hurt a little, but numbness overcame the pain.
“It’s none of your business if I eat my boyfriend,” she said.
Yue Tingfeng simply felt like he was being teased by Yan Qingsi. He managed to contain his burning desire for an entire night, yet he fell apart at this one sentence from her.
Yue Tingfeng finally shucked Yan Qingsi’s pajamas off. “Such a nuisance. You shouldn’t have worn this last night.”
Yan Qingsi chuckled. “Would you have been able to wait if I didn’t wear it last night?”
“Of course I can’t. God knows how I have suffered last night.”
Yue Tingfeng’s hand slid down the curve of Yan Qingsi’s bare back, feeling every inch, every beautiful curve. He lowered his head and kissed Yan Qingsi. “Darling,” he said, “Eat all you like. I can give you everything you want.”
