In the evening, Lu Jing went to bed early.
As for someone else, well, not even the slightest hint of sleepiness; from head to toe, they were all excited, tossing and turning in bed, and worried about waking the woman next to them, so they could only move delicately.
It wasn’t until after three in the morning that they finally started to feel sleepy and dozed off in a daze.
But it didn’t last long.
At five o’clock, they woke up promptly.
In total, they didn’t even get two hours of sleep.
However, when good things happen, spirits are high, and they weren’t tired at all, full of energy instead.
They got out of bed gingerly,
looked at the bedside table on the other side, and saw that the water cup was empty.
Silently, they went around to get the cup and left.
Lu Jing was sleeping like a log the whole time, even turning over in bed.
Jiang Ye watched with a smile, eventually bending down to adjust the blanket before leaving the bedroom again.
At just after five in the morning, it was still pitch dark everywhere, and it was even less likely for anyone to be on the streets.
Jiang Ye was wearing just a thin set of spring/autumn sports clothes. She went downstairs to start jogging, running all the way out of the fire brigade’s main gate.
The guard on duty almost thought they were seeing things, before confirming it was indeed Devil Jiang.
Was she plotting something naughty again?
There was nothing naughty, just a little too much excitement.
Eventually, that excitement might just spread to everyone.
Around seven, Jiang Ye came back from outside, covered in sweat, with evident sweat stains on her clothes, but looking radiant, carrying a bag with a hotel logo on it.
It was sealed tight, so it was impossible to see what was inside.
Besides, no one dared to come close and look.
"Good morning, Captain Jiang."
After she passed, two firefighters exchanged a puzzled glance:
"Was that Great Demon Jiang just now?"
"Did she smile at us?"
It’s downright chilling!
Jiang Ye was oblivious to all this.
Even if she knew, she wouldn’t care.
Right now, her whole heart was filled with thoughts of her family at home; outsiders were not in her view.
She ran up the stairs quickly with the bag in hand.
Inside the house, Lu Jing had actually already woken up but hadn’t gotten out of bed yet, lingering in its warmth.
Winter mornings, there’s nothing more comfortable than staying in bed.
The sound of the door lock turning.
Hearing the noise, Lu Jing sat up.
By this time, Jiang Ye had already come in, and had even entered the room without putting down the bag she was holding.
Lu Jing nodded, feeling a bit thirsty, and quickly took a few sips of water from the cup on the bedside cabinet.
"When did you get up? What’s that in your hand?"
"Why’d you get up so early?"
"Excited, couldn’t sleep."
If he couldn’t sleep, might as well get up.
Just so happens, he could also go for a jog to burn off some energy, and then pick up some breakfast that his wife likes on the way back.
"Your favorite, take a look."
Lu Jing got out of bed and walked over step by step.
When he got close to the man, he was completely embraced.
My own wife, can’t I give her a hug?
And it’s not just about hugging the wife now, but also the little one in her belly.
Even though that little one probably isn’t even as big as a bean sprout yet.
"Alright, alright, let me see what it is. I am indeed hungry."
