FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO Chapter 269

After Amelia left the prison facility, she decided to pay a visit to her mother's graveyard before the big revelation.

First, she stopped by a florist shop to pick up a bouquet of white daisies.

Next, she stopped at the shopping mall to pick up her mother's favourite berries. She also picked up a blanket, and some picnic items, before heading for the city cemetery.

On her way, she placed a call to her father, asking if they could meet up at Fiona's graveside, to which he agreed.

When Amelia arrived at the entrance to the cemetery, she was welcomed at the gate by an elderly security guard with grey hair and a wrinkled face.

"Miss Amelia, is that you?" The old man's brown eyes lit up with excitement.

"Yes, Pa Silas," Amelia called him fondly as she approached him, her hand extended towards him in a friendly handshake. "It's so good to see you. I thought you had retired"

"Retired!" Pa Silas's lips quirked amusingly. "This old man here is as strong and agile as a stallion. I still have at least ten more years to give before I join my friends."

"Of course, you do." Amelia chuckled, her gaze brimming with admiration.

"It's been a while since you visited." The old man observed the hefty-looking bodyguards behind Amelia. "I hope you are okay."

"Sure, I'm fine." Amelia's smile broadened. "I'll just go and say hi to Mom."

"Okay. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you." Pa Silas moved aside for Amelia and her bodyguards to go through.

"Me too. I'll see you on my way out. In the meantime enjoy this." Amelia collected a fancy nylon bag from Pascal containing some takeaway food, drink and fruits. "And it's Mrs Anderson now."

"Oh, congratulations, Mrs Anderson and thanks for this.." Pa Silas collected the bag, his eyes bubbling with excitement as he disappeared into his small office to devour the food.

As Amelia made her way through different cemetery headstones, carrying the bouquet of daisies, her mind drifted to her second time here with her mother right after her grandfather's passing.

It was a bright and peaceful day just .

The serene atmosphere, punctuated by the gentle rustling of leaves, created a sense of tranquillity that was both calming and poignant.

The well-maintained grounds, adorned with intricate tombstones and lush greenery, provided a dignified setting for honouring the lives of those who had passed.

Memories of Amelia's discussion with her mother on that fateful day flowed afresh in her mind.

Fiona had said something about the beauty of death, claiming it was a doorway to a new life. She had said that the things families enjoyed in life can never be lost. Rather, all that they love deeply becomes a part of them even after death.

Amelia didn't understand those words until two years later when her mother died.

Ever since then, she had learned to cherish precious memories, reminiscing on all the beautiful experiences shared with her mother.

As Amelia came before her mother's tomb, tears glistening in her eyes, she knelt, wiping dead leaves and withered flowers away from the grave. She gently placed the bouquet of daisies on the marble-polished tomb floor and the basket of fresh berries that Pascal handed her.

Pascal and his other two colleagues moved a few meters away to give Amelia some privacy but they kept vigilant.

"Hello, mum." Amelia beamed amid tears, stroking the tomb floor, her heart swirling with emotions.

"It's been a while. It's so good to see you after such a long time. I'm sure you're happy wherever you are." Amelia sniffled wiping her flowing tears with the back of her hand.

"I miss you so much. Even though you live continually in my heart, I wish I could see you one last time and hold you in my arms."

Amelia lowered her head, her left hand stroking her baby bump, which was hidden on the knit of her loose-fitting flare gown.

"Guess what, I'm married to Blaze Anderson, dad's business partner's son. Can you imagine that? His mother is the most wonderful woman ever but she can ever take your place in my heart. And there is more. You're finally going to be a grandmother. I know you'll love that right? Me too. I am so excited and I can't wait to see my baby and hold him in my arms. But I'm scared, mom..."

Amelia paused to catch her breath, more tears streaming down her flushed cheeks.

"...there are just too many problems surrounding my life. Blaze is currently in prison for something he didn't do. Grandma and Dad want me to forgive all those heartless people who tried to kill me. Someone out there is trying to ruin my happiness. I need your help and strength to overcome this phase of my life. I need your wisdom to do what is right. Please, guide me, Mom."

Meanwhile, Senator Gregory was on his way to the cemetery to join his daughter when he received an urgent call from the Nova correctional prison facility, requesting him to come down immediately.

Alarmed, the senator instructed the driver to turn around and head for the Nova correctional facility while he texted Amelia, informing her that he might be coming late.

When the senator arrived at the prison facility, he was briskly escorted to the prison infirmary by the slightly agitated chief warden.

"What exactly happened to my daughter?" The Senator demanded in a piqued voice, upon arriving at the infirmary. He was horrified to see Gwen lying unconscious and looking so pale.

The lower part of her body was covered with a white sheet and an intravenous fluid line was attached to her wrist, amid a beeping heart rate monitor.

"Who did this to her?"

"No one senator." The chief warden replied defensively. "I can assure you that no one hurt your daughter."

"Then why is she here?" Senator Gregory barked, anger rising in his tone. "The last time I spoke to her, she was perfectly fine and in good health. What happened to her all of a sudden?"
