"Oh, yes, yes. Please follow me this way." Hearing the reminder from the beauty, the Show Director regained his senses and immediately led her quickly towards the makeup room. He didn’t notice that, at a corner not far away, two people had deliberately stopped to eavesdrop on their conversation.
"Mom, what’s going on? How could they just randomly find someone to substitute as a model?" Shen Jiajia and Ma Huilian walked in from the garden and witnessed this scene. After hearing the Show Director’s words, Shen Jiajia immediately expressed her displeasure, as if her opinion was required.
"Let’s follow them and see." Ma Huilian said calmly.
Walking through the corridor and turning a corner, Ma Huilian and Shen Jiajia saw the beauty being hurriedly pulled into the makeup room by someone. Assistant Jiang and the PR manager were standing at the door of the makeup room, their faces serious and solemn, seemingly discussing something important.
"Is there a problem? I just heard the Show Director say a model is sick?" Ma Huilian led Shen Jiajia to Jiang Jian and asked gently.
"Just a minor issue, already resolved." Although Shen Lingxing had never introduced Ma Huilian to Jiang Jian, the circle in Jin City was only so big. They inevitably encountered each other at certain occasions. Even without communication, Jiang Jian had long known Ma Huilian’s identity through others. Seeing her asking about work-related matters, Jiang Jian did not show any surprise, but he didn’t want to share much, so he replied briefly.
"But I saw the Show Director randomly find someone to be the model. Is this okay? What if something goes wrong?" Shen Jiajia questioned with the authority of the Shen family’s young lady.
"And you are?" Shen Lingxing turned to look at Shen Jiajia. He wasn’t upset by her questioning but rather puzzled by her identity.
"This is my daughter. Young people are more impulsive, don’t mind her." Ma Huilian smiled, her words showing no intention to blame Shen Jiajia’s impulsiveness, clearly indulging her.
"I have work to handle, excuse me." Jiang Jian didn’t want to continue talking with Ma Huilian and her daughter, but maintained his polite demeanor. He was about to turn and leave but was stopped by Shen Jiajia.
"Wait a minute." Shen Jiajia stepped forward assertively, "I want to replace that woman and be the model!"
She wants to be the model?
Jiang Jian glanced at Shen Jiajia and calmly said, "I’m afraid Miss Shen is not suitable."
"How am I not suitable? How can an outsider be better than our own Shen family members?" Shen Jiajia argued confidently, implying that no one is more suitable than her, indirectly emphasizing that Jiang Jian, being an outsider, didn’t have the right to say she wasn’t suitable.
"It’s not about being an outsider or a family member, it’s about the clothes." Jiang Jian replied calmly.
"What’s wrong with the clothes?" Shen Jiajia continued asking, showing no intention of giving up.
"The clothes are custom-made for a 1.7-meter model. On Miss Shen, they might be too large."
Shen Jiajia looked more like Ma Huilian, only 158 cm tall and relatively thin, appearing petite. There was indeed a significant gap compared to the tall model’s 1.7-meter stature.
Though Jiang Jian only stated the fact, Shen Jiajia felt it was harsh and dissatisfiedly said, "I can wear high heels!"
"Assistant Jiang, time’s up. Shall we start?" Time was tight, and there was no room for idle chatting and arguing! The PR manager anxiously reminded from the side, afraid of delaying things.
"Let’s start!" Jiang Jian decisively ordered. Then he said to Ma Huilian and Shen Jiajia, "Mrs. Shen, Miss Shen, the press conference is about to start officially. Please move to the venue."
"But my matter..."
"Jiajia, let’s go." Initially, Ma Huilian thought this could be a good opportunity for Shen Jiajia to smoothly model at this press conference. Once it was reported by the media, it would increase her exposure. But Jiang Jian clearly did not want to give them this face, so further arguing would be futile.
"Mom..." Shen Jiajia felt the same as Ma Huilian, not wanting to miss any advantageous opportunity.
"Let’s go." Ma Huilian firmly pulled Shen Jiajia away. Staying longer would be hard to explain to Shen Zixian about not seeking the medicinal oil but instead coming here with Jiajia.
Few people knew about the Shen-Maison collaboration, and it always remained confidential. Thus, this press conference was secretly prepared. When the curtain at a corner of the venue lifted and the lights turned on, the venue erupted.

Curious discussions arose one after another. Their questions were answered when the conference host took the stage.
Accompanied by soothing background music, the tall and beautiful models confidently walked onto the runway. The glamorous clothes paired with exquisite jewelry created a visual feast, stunning everyone present.
Shen Lingxing and the Jelson couple sat in the front row, center stage. Glancing at Jelson’s frequent smiling nods, Shen Lingxing’s mind remained calm. He wondered, if Mi Jing were beside him now, how would she react to the clothes and jewelry show?
Would she be indifferent or pleasantly surprised?
The thought of his dear wife at home suddenly made Shen Lingxing eager to return, distracting him and making his mind drift home!
The model walked back and forth on the stage. Suddenly, the background music changed, and a woman in a bright yellow low-cut dress slowly entered their view. Her tall figure, graceful posture, and beautiful face adorned with an alluring smile. Her eyes boldly stared at Shen Lingxing below.
"Little Shen, the beauty on stage seems to fancy you."
A teasing voice in quirky Mandarin came from beside Shen Lingxing. He glanced at Jelson next to him, then followed Jelson’s playful and teasing gaze to the stage.
The next second, Shen Lingxing froze, for he saw a familiar face in his view!
Why is she here?
Unexpected encounters always surprise people, but it lasted only a second.
"How’s that, isn’t she very charming?" Jelson laughed heartily, continuing the joke.
