Xuanxuan happily ran upstairs, breezing past the second-floor living room without noticing He Zerui sitting on the sofa. However, Kabi, who had followed her home, suddenly stopped in its tracks. It seemed quite afraid of He Zerui and didn’t dare to approach him, instead, it just stared longingly at the cookies in his hand from a distance.

Only after Xuanxuan finished her call did she realize Kabi hadn’t followed her into the room. She called out while walking out of the room, soon spotting Kabi’s white tail at the corridor’s corner.

"Kabi, didn’t you just eat? Why are you craving again? We can’t eat the bad guy’s stuff. If you still want to eat, Xuanxuan will get you dog food." Entering the room, Xuanxuan closed the door, then placed Kabi in its bed, educating it seriously.

Kabi barked twice again and then stood up, running to the door, scratching it with its short front legs.
"You want to go out?" Xuanxuan asked with a pained expression. Seeing Kabi’s pitiful look, she didn’t relent, instead opened a drawer, took out some dog food, and said, "Kabi, come over and eat."
"Aroo."
Kabi glanced at the dog food in the bowl, looked back at Xuanxuan, whimpered softly, and continued to scratch the door with its front paws.
"Sigh, you’re even greedier than Xuanxuan!" Xuanxuan sighed helplessly, knowing Kabi was fixated on He Zerui’s cookies.
Scratch, scratch—
The door being scratched by Kabi made a noise, but fortunately, its claws had been trimmed and weren’t too sharp, so the door showed no visible damage. Xuanxuan always cherished Kabi, pampering it like a little sister, so she couldn’t bear to scold it harshly. "Here." He Zerui changed his mind without thinking, putting the box of cookies into Xuanxuan’s hand.
