Not wanting to see him blame himself, Wen Ran made a jest to lighten the atmosphere.

He said softly, “Since you’re injured accompanying me, you should rest well these few days. You are not allowed to do anything with these hands.”

After applying the ointment for her, Mo Xiuchen gently placed her hands back into the blanket. Wen Ran’s eyes sparkled, asking shyly, “Mo Xiuchen, could you please get my pajamas for me?”
Mo Xiuchen nodded, turned around to fetch her pajamas from the bathroom. His gaze swept over her hands, asking apprehensively, “Can you put it on yourself, or do you need my help?”
Wen Ran replied, “I can do it myself.”
Staring at her blush-tinted cheeks, Mo Xiuchen bit his lip, “Then I’ll go take a shower first.” With that, he turned around and walked into the bathroom.
After changing into her pajamas and lying in bed, Wen Ran found herself unable to calm her racing heart.
Initially, she came back to divorce him and to move her stuff.
Yet now, she was convinced by Mo Xiuchen to stay.
She felt conflicted and sad, thinking about how long she could stay by his side.
It was an unsolvable question, maybe she would regret it in the next second…

Wen Ran evaded his heated gaze and shifted slightly.
Rather than asking her to get off the bed, Mo Xiuchen let her sit there while he stood in front of the bed. He gently and skillfully dried her hair, his fingers threading through her strands, occasionally twirling them. The peaceful scent wrapping around them, her restless heart was slowly beginning to steady.
After drying her hair, he swiftly dried his own as well.
Placing the hair dryer down, he got on the bed.
The familiar and refreshing masculine scent hit her, causing Wen Ran’s body to tremble instinctively, she moved further in.
Mo Xiuchen gifted her a light smile before his arm curled around her, pulling them down into the bed together.
Picking up the remote, he adjusted the light to a soft, dim state. He then shifted to his side, embracing her as usual.
