Chapter 574: Feeling sorry for him
After a nearly twenty-hour flight, Gu Yan, Mo Xiuchen, and Wen Ran finally arrived in M City, D Country. As soon as they cleared security, the person who came to pick them up was already waiting there.

Mo Xiuchen accompanied Wen Ran back to the hotel, prepared the bath for her after settling their luggage, and told her to have a good night’s sleep after a bath.

Woken from her reverie with still some lingering confusion in her clear eyes, Wen Ran stared directly into his soft, deep eyes. Her heart skipped a beat inexplicably.
The air around her was replaced by his fresh and pleasant male scent. He naturally climbed into bed and pulled her into his arms with a single extension of his long arm.
Wen Ran’s body tensed ever so slightly.
“Ranran, aren’t you tired after such a long flight?”
His charming smile was enchanting, his deep eyes seemingly pulling her in. She didn’t know if it was just her imagination but she felt a dangerous heat flickering in his eyes.
Wen Ran panicked slightly, her voice trembling.
“Ranran, I won’t bully you. You go to sleep; I’ll go take a shower.”
He didn’t force her. She should be glad, but why did she feel a pang of heartache instead?
He took a cold shower now, and it made her both concerned and sad.
When Mo Xiuchen came out of the bathroom again, Wen Ran was lying on her side with her back to him. He stood in front of the bed, not getting in immediately, but quietly watching her.
He was only in the bathroom for a few minutes. There was no way she could have fallen asleep in such a short time, but she didn’t say anything when he came out. It seems she didn’t want to talk anymore.
His lips tightened slightly. He got into bed gently and lightly held her from behind.
Because Mo Jingteng fainted in the office in the morning, the afternoon meeting was cancelled.
