Chapter 657: 656 Meet Each Other
“Ranran, have you been sneaking around at night?”
The next day, when Wen Jin saw Wen Ran’s exhausted look from lack of sleep, yet still trying hard to maintain her composure, his eyebrows immediately frowned.
Wen Ran forced a cheerful laugh, trying to dodge his question: “Brother, were you watching me from the office? As soon as I arrived, you came over.”
Wen Jin sighed and walked into the office, heading towards her desk, saying: “Ranran, no need to switch on your computer. I’ve already booked a flight for you. You’re going on a business trip to City C later.”
“A business trip to City C?”
Wen Ran’s heart jolted, her clear eyes widening in shock.
Wen Jin chuckled and stopped in front of her desk, gazing at her warmly: “Yes, they want to test our drugs and injections first. Conveniently, Mo Xiuchen is in City C, so you can make a surprise inspection. There is no need to rush back today; you can return tomorrow.”
A hint of suspicion flashed in Wen Ran’s eyes, but seeing Wen Jin’s usual demeanor, she could only nod in agreement: “Alright, what time is the flight? And who’s going with me?”
“Manager Zhang from the Sales Department is going with you. The flight is at nine-thirty. I just called Qing Feng; they are at the factory gate and will take you and Manager Zhang to the airport.”
“Of course, if you want to go home and freshen up, there’s still time.”
Wen Jin paused, making another quip.
Ten minutes later, Wen Ran and Manager Zhang got into the car, and Qing Feng and Qing Yang drove them to the airport.
In the office on the second floor of the pharmaceutical factory, Gu Kai stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, his gaze deep as he watched the entrance of the factory until the car disappeared from sight. He then turned around and took out his mobile phone.
He dialed a number as he walked back to his desk.
As he settled into his office chair, Gu Kai’s voice came through the phone: “Hey, Ah Jin.”
Leaning back in his chair, Wen Jin responded calmly: “Ranran is on her way to the airport. She’ll arrive in City C at ten-thirty.”

Gu Kai asked calmly over the phone.
“No, let Mo Xiuchen tell her when she gets there.” Wen Jin rubbed his temples lightly; his mood had yet to calm down.
This morning, he received a call from Gu Kai stating that Mo Xiuchen would be leaving the country tomorrow and asking him to arrange for Wen Ran to visit City C, preferably under the pretext of a business trip.
Under his insistent questioning, Gu Kai finally divulged the full extent of Mo Xiuchen’s condition to him. Wen Jin was utterly shocked after hearing Gu Kai’s explanation.
At that moment, he couldn’t describe his feelings. As someone who grew up in a family like theirs, admired and respected by everyone for his handsome appearance and exceptional abilities, he seldom admired anyone his own age.
Despite Wen Jin’s outward gentleness, he was proud at heart.
Having never admired anyone his age before, he now genuinely admired Mo Xiuchen.
Last year, during the Wen Family crisis, he fell into a coma while protecting his sister Wen Ran. When he awoke and learned that Ranran, for his and the factory’s sake, had gambled her future happiness away by marrying a man rumored to be impotent, he was furious.
It wasn’t until Mo Xiuchen saved Ranran in F City and they consummated their marriage that he began to accept Mo Xiuchen as his brother-in-law, especially after hearing Ranran defending Mo Xiuchen in their conversations.
But even then, he had thought that if Mo Xiuchen ever dared to harm Ranran, he would take her away.
His perception of Mo Xiuchen truly changed when they learned about Wen Ran’s background. Mo Xiuchen stood with him on the same front. Later, for Wen Ran’s sake, Mo Xiuchen risked lying about his illness to stop Wen Ran from suspecting their long marriage and childlessness.
Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran have been married for less than a year, but the things he’s done for her, one by one, are unimpeachable.
Now, he’s directly sacrificing his life for Wen Ran’s health.
Wen Jin figured that no one else in this world, besides Mo Xiuchen, could love Ranran so deeply. Even he himself might not be able to make the same sacrifice as Mo Xiuchen.
“Ah Jin, has Ranran been in a bad mood lately?”
There was a hesitation before Gu Kai asked with concern.
Wen Jin cast his eyes downwards, looking at a certain spot on his legs, “No, she might not have slept well last night, but no other worries apart from that.”
“Then I’ll have Xiuchen meet her at the airport later.”
Wen Ran was anxious throughout the flight, her heartbeat uncontrollable.
The thought of seeing Mo Xiuchen soon filled her with a mix of joy and fear.
Upon landing safely at City C Airport, as passengers began to disembark, she remained seated, not getting up.
Following the crowd out of the security check, Wen Ran caught sight of a tall figure waiting amongst the crowd. His features were handsome, his demeanor elegant, and his deep eyes were already waiting for her.
Their eyes met in the air, and his lips lifted into a captivating smile. As soon as she stepped out of the security check, he pulled her into his arms.
He gazed at her intently, examining her carefully.
Wen Ran, her emotions rushing like a torrent, flashed a brilliant smile. Looking at the captivating smile and adoring gaze of the handsome face in front of her, she suddenly felt that all her previous worries and fears on the plane were unnecessary.
“Xiuchen, how did you know I was coming to City C? Did my brother tip you off?”
Wen Ran broke their gaze, her clear eyes blinking.
Mo Xiuchen’s smile deepened. His large hand gently stroked her hair as he led her out: “I called back to our place, and your brother told me.”
Wen Ran didn’t believe him: “Why did you call my brother?”
Manager Zhang was following them, carrying the luggage.
Mo Xiuchen laughed and said: “I’ll tell you later. Ranran, I heard you’re here on a business trip. Would you like to go to the hospital first, then, I’ll take you to lunch.”
“Mo General, Miss Wen doesn’t need to go to the hospital. I can handle it by myself.”
Before Wen Ran had a chance to respond, Manager Zhang, who was following them, had already spoken, beaming. Before leaving, Wen Jin had instructed him to handle the business matters while Wen Ran was there to see Mo Xiuchen, not actually to handle business.
Mo Xiuchen turned and gave Manager Zhang a polite smile, responding cordially: “Thank you then, Manager Zhang.” As he finished his sentence, he turned back to Wen Ran: “Ranran, since Manager Zhang can handle things at the hospital on his own, why don’t you come back to the apartment with me now? At noon, I’ll cook.”
Wen Ran readily agreed: “Alright!”
