From midnight until now, they had not found Wen Ran. Checkpoints at all intersections were searching and Wan Ran was still missing.
“Since Director Liao now knows, could you please tell us where Wen Ran is? Is she safe?”
There was no emotion detectable in Qin Mu’s voice, apart from a chill that was inconsistent with the season. As his words fell, Liao Dongxing laughed from the other end of the phone, “Well, Young Master Qin, I’m calling to tell you that Miss Wen is fine. Can you let General Mo take the call? His phone was busy when I called.”
Liao Dongxing had already called Mo Xiuchen. He had snatched the person at the core of Mo Xiuchen’s heart; how could he not get in touch with him?
It was only that Mo Xiuchen’s phone had been engaged all along; he assumed that Mo Xiuchen must be frantically searching for Wen Ran and had, thus, decided to call Qin Mu instead.

Seeing Qin Mu’s gaze on him, Jiang Liu’s face slightly altered and Luo Haofeng who sat close by was also startled. They then heard Qin Mu say, word by word, in a cold voice: “Fine, Director Liao, hold on. I’ll pass the phone to Xiuchen immediately.”
Jiang Liu straightened his tall body immediately, his lips tightened unconsciously, as he took a deep breath silently.

Taking the phone, Jiang Liu spoke in a deep voice: “Director Liao, where is Ran now?”
To the side, Luo Haofeng watched as Jiang Liu spoke in a voice almost identical to that of Mo Xiuchen’s, a hint of surprise appearing on his handsome face, which quickly faded to calmness.
Qin Mu just sat and watched Jiang Liu, his expression cold and stern.

Jiang Liu’s tone was the same as Mo Xiuchen would use, the anger and domineering overtones reflected his undisguised concern and care for Wen Ran.
Liao Dongxing laughed again and willingly agreed: “Sure, I’ll let Miss Wen speak to you.”
Jiang Liu had the phone on speaker. Qin Mu and Luo Haofeng naturally heard Liao Dongxing, their expressions tightening as they focused on Jiang Liu’s phone.
First, they heard Liao Dongxing whisper something at the other end of the call, and after a while Wen Ran’s voice came through, “Xiuchen.”
“RanRan, are you hurt?”
Jiang Liu asked anxiously. If it weren’t for Qin Mu and Luo Haofeng sitting in front of him, they would almost believe that this voice – this anxiety and concern – really did belong to Mo Xiuchen.
“I am not hurt, Xiuchen, don’t worry.”
Instead of pleading for help or screaming on the phone, Wen Ran comforted him and told them not to worry. Even though Jiang Liu’s impersonation of Mo Xiuchen was almost perfect, he still wasn’t Mo Xiuchen.

Jiang Liu also laughed, his sound chilling, “Director Liao, you sure are considerate. You’ve brought Ranran all the way to A City. As long as you ensure Ranran’s safety, I will give you everything you want tonight.”
“Ha ha, General Mo is not only smart but straightforward too. Now that you say it, let’s wait until tonight. Tonight, I will return Miss Wen to General Mo.”
“And don’t forget about Fu Jingyi.”
Jiang Liu added coldly.
“I won’t forget, Fu Jingyi also wants to meet General Mo. So, let’s leave it at this for now. See you tonight!”
Liao Dongxing finished speaking and hung up.
Jiang Liu returned the phone to Qin Mu. His palm was sweat-soaked from gripping the phone, and a thin layer of sweat was lightly peppered on his forehead.
