Wen Ran’s eyes shimmered lightly, avoiding her probing gaze, “What wouldn’t I dare to buy?”
“You just don’t dare to buy, Ranran, haven’t you decided to stay in G City? Since taking one step is stepping, taking several steps is the same.”
Bai Xiaoxiao said encouragingly, understanding this friend who was like a sister too well.
Wen Ran looked down, staring at the milk tea in her cup, her heart somewhat faltering.

Bai Xiaoxiao was about to say something when Wen Ran’s phone rang; she pulled it out to see who was calling, and Bai Xiaoxiao leaned in to look. Seeing the name on the display, she immediately smiled teasingly, “Ranran, Mo Xiuchen misses you like days feel like years. It’s enviable; it hasn’t even been half a day, and he’s already calling again.”
Wen Ran pushed her face away with her hand and shifted slightly to the other side before pressing the answer key, “Hello!”
Bai Xiaoxiao pouted in protest and turned her head toward the car window, while Qing Feng in the front gestured to Qing Yang to drive.
“Ranran, are you still out shopping?”
The voice of Mo Xiuchen came through the phone, deep and magnetic, exceptionally warm and pleasant to the ear.
Wen Ran gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, her hand not immediately dropping but idly twirling a lock around her finger, “We’re done shopping and heading to the hospital now.”
They didn’t just buy clothes; they also bought a lot of things for Li Qian’s little baby, both clothes and toys.
They would head directly to the hospital, give those things to Li Qian, and then go home.

When they reached Kangning Hospital, it was twilight; from a distance, they saw a tall and straight figure standing under the hospital’s billboard, the setting sun casting its light on his sculpted, exceedingly handsome features, indescribably charming.
“Ranran, Mo Xiuchen came out to meet you.”
Wen Ran gazed intensely at the handsome figure by the road, her voice soft, as the car slowed and came to a gradual stop in front of Mo Xiuchen.
Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved into a pleased smile, he stepped forward, opened the car door, and upon seeing Wen Ran sitting in the car, his smile deepened, “Ranran, come on out.”
Wen Ran returned his brilliant smile, stepped out of the car, and Mo Xiuchen’s fair, slender fingers immediately reached up to her head, caressing her sleek black hair, his eyes adoringly fixed on her, “Are you tired from the shopping?”
Wen Ran shook her head, “Not tired, Xiaoxiao and I took a break midway.”
Mo Xiuchen chuckled lightly while Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t immediately get out of the car but sat inside as Qing Yang drove to the parking lot.
“You two really know how to shop. You shopped all afternoon and aren’t even tired. What good things did you buy?” Mo Xiuchen looked at Wen Ran with a gentle smile.
Wen Ran turned her head toward the direction of the parking lot and raised an eyebrow with a mysterious smile, “Indeed, it’s something good. You’ll find out in a moment.”
After she spoke, her eyebrows and eyes were tinged with a bright smile.
Mo Xiuchen gazed at her bright smile, a deep look flashed in his eyes, and he squinted gently saying, “All right, let’s go inside first. Ah Mu and Ah Feng are in Gu Kai’s office. Do you want to visit Li Qian first or go to Gu Kai’s office first?”
“Haofeng is also there?”
Wen Ran was somewhat surprised.
“Yes, Ah Feng is there too. He knew you and Bai Xiaoxiao were shopping together and has been waiting there without leaving.”
Though Haofeng hadn’t said it, Mo Xiuchen could guess.
Wen Ran slightly frowned, but quickly her smile returned, “Let’s go to Sister Li’s room first. Xiaoxiao and I bought some clothes and toys for the baby, and many other daily necessities.”
The two walked side by side toward the hospital entrance, just as they met Qing Feng, Qing Yang, and Bai Xiaoxiao carrying stuff. Wen Ran helped Bai Xiaoxiao with some of it, and they entered the hospital together. Wen Ran then took the bags from Qing Feng and Qing Yang, asking them to deliver the two items of clothing to Gu Kai’s office first.
Mo Xiuchen’s gaze swept over the bag in Qing Yang’s hand, playful pretending to ask. Wen Ran blinked and explained, “These are clothes I bought for my dad and my brother.”
A light flashed deep in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, thinking that if Ranran had bought clothes for her brother and her dad, maybe she bought something for him too.
“Xiuchen, Xiaoxiao and I will go see Sister Li first, we’ll come find you guys in a bit,” Wen Ran said with a smile, and Mo Xiuchen smiled and nodded, “Okay!”
When Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao arrived at the ward, Mother Qin was also there. She praised them non-stop after seeing what they had bought:
“Ranran, Xiaoxiao, you two are so thoughtful, buying so many things, you must be exhausted, right?”
“Not at all, we never know the meaning of tired when we’re shopping,” Bai Xiaoxiao said humorously. After chatting for a few minutes, Mother Qin stood up and said, “Ranran, accompany me to the restroom, will you?”
Wen Ran’s eyes sparkled as she smiled and agreed, instructing Bai Xiaoxiao to stay with Li Qian. She and Mother Qin then left the ward.
