Precisely as the clock struck nine, the elevator doors opened, and the first person she saw was Sierra Wright at the front desk.
"Am I late?" Nia panted, clocking in and glancing at the time.
Nine o’clock!? This shouldn’t count as late, right?

"Today was an exception. Besides, I wasn’t late," Nia insisted. She was not late.
Phoebe Walker sneered. Just as she was about to give Nia a hard time, she spotted Maxwell Peary walking past. This Nia is really lucky. She came in late today, and Mr. Peary happened to be a bit late too. Otherwise, he would have caught her red-handed. Consequently, she held her tongue, ensuring the Secretary Department maintained a peaceful atmosphere to leave a good impression on Maxwell Peary.
Nia returned to her desk. Yesterday, Uncle had told her that she was on sick leave the previous afternoon.
Once Maxwell Peary had left, Phoebe Walker immediately stood up.
"Nia Mitchell, I recall you mentioning you worked at Star Media, right? So you should be quite capable. Here, work on this file." Phoebe Walker handed her the file. Hmph, let’s see how she handles this.
