Staring at the already closed elevator, she felt like she had uncovered a secret.

Nia pouted playfully and lightly tapped Maxwell’s arm.

Maxwell leaned in and playfully nipped her earlobe.

Nia flinched, her hand flying to cover her bitten earlobe.
"Uncle, are you part dog or something?"

Hearing Nia accuse him of being part dog, he surprisingly wasn’t angry. He simply pulled her into his arms again, letting her glare and sputter.
"Sweetheart, you can flirt all you want, but can it wait until after Uncle has eaten?"
He reached out with his left hand to take the food box.
Nia playfully pulled it away, refusing to give it to him.
"If you want to eat, you must promise me you won’t bite...my ears again."
Her ears had been bitten more than once. If he didn’t break this habit, she was afraid they’d be bitten again.
