Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot Chapter 81

"Who made this report?"

Phoebe Walker turned angrily to face everyone in Group A. Nia Mitchell swallowed nervously; thankfully, she wasn’t involved with that report.

Everyone in Group A lowered their heads, but Phoebe Walker eventually found out who it was.

"Diana Hill!" Phoebe Walker yelled. Then, remembering Maxwell Peary was in the office next door, she lowered her voice.

"This was your doing!"

Hearing this, Diana Hill sprang to her feet.

"This should have been done by you experienced secretaries! I only joined a month ago, and you’re the ones who dumped this on me. Besides, after I finished it, I had you all check it, and you said there were no problems."

She wasn’t willing to take the blame for this. If such a huge blunder landed on her, she would surely be fired.

She had gone through layer after layer of screening and barely managed to pass the interviews to get this job; she had to hold onto it.

"We entrusted this work to you because we trusted you and wanted to give you some training. How can you push the blame onto us when you’re the one who made the mistake?" Follow current ɴᴏᴠᴇʟs on 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵⟡𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮⟡𝓷𝓮𝓽

"That’s right! Who did you ask to check it for you?"

"She’s probably just making that up. Who’s supposed to double-check her work anyway? If we have to do that, what’s the point of having her do it in the first place?"

"Shirking responsibility, so typical."

The office instantly filled with sarcastic remarks. Diana Hill stood there, her eyes red with indignation.

"Um... I also don’t think it’s Diana’s fault," Nia Mitchell looked up. Uncle Peary had only deducted their bonuses; it wasn’t *that* serious.

"Oh, look who’s decided to play the hero," Secretary A sneered. "I didn’t expect the newcomer to be such a knight in shining armor. Who knows, maybe next time, you’ll be the one getting your pay docked."

Nia Mitchell gave an awkward smile and sat down, feeling very uncomfortable.

"But Diana really isn’t at fault. That report was beyond her capabilities to begin with. It’s already quite something that she managed to complete it at all."

Diana Hill gave Nia Mitchell a grateful smile. She hadn’t expected that the one to step forward and help her at this moment wouldn’t be any of the colleagues she had spent the past month with, but this newcomer she had met less than five minutes ago.

"Even if the CEO himself questions me about this report today, I will tell the absolute truth. When that time comes, I doubt any of you will be able to escape responsibility."

Diana Hill wouldn’t allow herself to be bullied .

"Everyone, please keep it down," Phoebe Walker sighed.

She wasn’t trying to be a peacemaker; she just didn’t want the commotion to disturb the CEO, especially since their Secretary Department and the CEO Office were separated by just one wall.

"Alright everyone, back to work. We have a heavy workload today. Diana, you revise this report."

On the surface, Phoebe Walker appeared to be smoothing things over, but in the end, she still placed the report back on Diana Hill’s desk.

This was a task Diana couldn’t possibly complete. Phoebe Walker smirked. She’d like to see how Diana Hill would handle this.

Diana Hill clenched her fists. Staring at the report, she could only swallow her anger. After all, she didn’t have the means to fight them.

Nia Mitchell felt her heart pound as she witnessed such office politics, full of scheming and backstabbing. She couldn’t help but worry about her own future here.

While everyone else got back to their tasks, Nia Mitchell saw Diana Hill sitting at her desk, silently weeping. She held the report in her hands, utterly clueless as to where the errors actually were.

The CEO had said it was riddled with errors, yet she couldn’t find a single one.

"It’s okay," Nia Mitchell comforted her, "I’m sure you’ll find the errors."

Diana Hill wiped her tears and nodded.
