Ye Yuning sipped her milk while looking at Xiao Linye.
Feeling her gaze, Xiao Linye asked, "Why are you staring at me? Is the breakfast not good?"
The small cakes from yesterday were still there; Xiao Linye had just toasted them again, so they were still crisp and flaky.
"Then what are you looking at?" Xiao Linye asked.
"There’s something I think I need to tell you."

Xiao Linye didn’t answer directly but threw the question back to her.
Ye Yuning was speechless. What could she say? It seemed no matter how she answered, it wouldn’t be good.
She glared resentfully at Xiao Linye. Was he really enjoying making her squirm ?
Xiao Linye met her gaze and rubbed the soft top of her hair. "Do you want to get out at the corner later?"
"Yes!" Ye Yuning nodded immediately, looking as if she were afraid he might change his mind.
Xiao Linye’s expression darkened slightly. "Are you that afraid of people knowing about our relationship?"
"Afraid? Of course, I’m afraid! After all, I’m from Manlang, and the Seventh Master has a bad temper. What if he takes it out on you?" Ye Yuning continued, "You helped me get a job there; it can’t affect you."
Ye Yuning muttered this.
Her words sounded well-phrased and reasonable. The way she seemed to be considering his welfare made Xiao Linye even more pleased.
