The thinking time wasn’t long. As the light turned green, Evelyn Clayton came to her senses and found herself stepping forward.
She then pursed her lips and smiled, walking towards the café.
Lynn Yates was the first to notice her approach and greeted her through the glass window.
Her initiative made Evelyn Clayton feel a bit guilty inside, but it had come to this point. She took a deep breath and walked in.
To ensure Summer Monroe completely misunderstood, after entering, Evelyn Clayton ignored James Grant’s gaze and instead looked at Lynn Yates: "Miss Yates, do you mind if I sit next to you?"
Lynn Yates looked at her, then at James Grant, not knowing what unpleasantness had happened between the two.
Having almost finished discussing the collaboration, she stood up and made room on the long bench.
"You sit down, I’ll head to the restroom."

Evelyn Clayton saw the person outside had put away the phone and realized things were settled, her expression instantly relaxed.
James Grant hadn’t taken his eyes off her since she came in. He looked outside following her gaze but saw nothing.
They hadn’t sat alone in a space for days. Evelyn Clayton felt a bit uncomfortable, trying to make conversation: "Director Grant and Director Yates here on a date?"
James Grant was stunned and probed: "Director Yates and I are just here to discuss collaboration."
"Can’t you discuss collaboration at the company?"
As the words fell, Evelyn Clayton realized her mistake, a trace of regret appearing on her face.

James Grant instead curved his lips: "Are you jealous?"
Evelyn Clayton immediately widened her eyes, instantly denying: "What a joke!"
"I’m just afraid that discussing in a non-private place like a café makes it easy for those with ulterior motives to overhear." Evelyn Clayton found an excuse, and as she spoke, she believed it herself, even turning to admonish James Grant: "Just worried, where were you thinking?"
"Oh, is that so." James Grant feigned sudden understanding, his eyes actually full of amusement. He deliberately said: "But you don’t need to worry about that. Director Yates specially chose a secluded spot and even asked the nearby tables to move to the other side. Our discussion won’t be overheard."
"Far more reliable than how you handled things before."
The man spoke endlessly about how meticulous Lynn Yates was, making her seem careless and incompetent. Evelyn Clayton felt angry and stood up abruptly.
"If Director Grant thinks Director Yates is more reliable, you should collaborate more with her! As for me, being stupid and clumsy as I am, since you’ve already suspended me, I don’t need to be an eyesore to you. We are mutually disgusted anyway, this is perfect, we don’t have to endure each other anymore."
Evelyn Clayton’s mouth rattled off words faster than a firing machine, speaking in a rush and anger, her hands itching, wishing she could throw a few punches at the calm face.
The stalker had just sent this filmed segment to Summer Monroe when Lynn Yates returned from the restroom.
Seeing the two suddenly start arguing, she was surprised and quickly walked over, just in time to hear the end.
