James Grant’s sudden appearance was like a dream, fleeting and transient.
Evelyn Clayton couldn’t quite pinpoint her feelings.
She knew that James was currently busy consolidating his position, while she herself was busy striving forward.
But for some reason, whenever she saw James, she couldn’t help but feel aggrieved, couldn’t help but want to complain.
It was as if, in front of James, all her armor instantly turned into Achilles’ heels.

Dragging her slightly exhausted body, Evelyn saw Yara, and immediately planned to inspect the convention center in person.

In response, Evelyn felt a bit guilty, "I sleep every day."
Yara was exasperated.
"Don’t try to fool me, I’ll ask Old Wang in a bit!"
"No need, no need," Evelyn smiled ingratiatingly, "I was just particularly busy the last couple of days, pulled two all-nighters..."
Yara, both angry and amused, sighed.
"Are you trying to kill yourself?"
"At least the deadlines were met."
"That’s not acceptable, you need to rest! You can check the exhibition hall in the evening!"
As she spoke, Yara decisively ordered the driver to turn the car around, "To the hotel!"
The driver turned the car around and headed towards the hotel.
Evelyn protested, but Yara pretended not to hear.
Upon arrival, she realized that the hotel was not far from the convention center and that it was a room Yara had specifically booked for her.
As they entered the hotel lobby, Yara kept chattering.
"I thought you might not rest properly, but I didn’t expect you’d push yourself this hard! I arranged for a room, just waiting for you to rest and recuperate!"
Evelyn was still resisting, wanting to check the setup of the show floor first.
The two of them were in a small tussle when a figure walked into the hotel.
Yara’s eyes twinkled first, and she greeted, "Director Ford!"
Evelyn also looked over.
They saw Franklin Ford striding into the hotel, heading directly towards them.
"Director Clayton, Director Reagan." Franklin Ford stopped, maintaining his usual indifferent demeanor.
However, when his gaze fell on Evelyn’s face, there was a slight softening.
He seemed to sigh lightly, "Director Clayton, I heard from Ace Shaw, the production schedule is all caught up, you’ve worked hard."
Evelyn smiled lightly and warmly.

With a slight frown, Franklin Ford didn’t approve.
"Director Clayton, you should go and rest properly now. With the exhibition approaching, I can take over. Rest assured, I’m also an investor in this project, I’ll take good care of it."
With Franklin Ford’s assurance, Evelyn finally relented.
Saying goodbye to Franklin, Yara and Evelyn went up to the hotel suite together.
As soon as they entered, before they could say a few words, there was a gentle knock on the door.
Evelyn went to open it.
Standing at the door was a hotel staff member with a big smile, pushing a food cart.
