The project briefing was over, and Yara Reagan hurried back to her office as if escaping.
Franklin Ford sensed something was off with her but couldn’t quite place it.
"Franklin, I arranged for Evelyn Clayton to meet with Rhys Jacobs. Could you go to Yara and get a file on the model?" Violet Ford instructed her brother to run this errand, "While you’re at it, let Rhys in on your way out."
Franklin acknowledged and went out.

As she was thinking, the door to the meeting room was pushed open.
A lean, tall figure entered and walked straight to Violet and Evelyn.
This was a young man, somewhat similar in demeanor to Franklin Ford, his handsome face even paler. His dark eyes were calm, with a pair of silver-rimmed glasses perched on his prominent nose, giving him a very composed look.
Evelyn Clayton observed, feeling a bit surprised.
Just judging from the appearance, he seemed decent? He looked like a steady person.
"Director Ford, Director Clayton, hello, my name is Rhys Jacobs, spelled with two ’mouth’ radicals." The man spoke, his voice clear and melodious, neither arrogant nor humble, "I look forward to your guidance in the future, Director Clayton."
Violet first glanced at Evelyn’s expression and then cheerfully said, "Rhys Jacobs is actually sort of my half-student. However, he lost interest in the design field after his undergraduate studies and pursued an MBA in the country, so it’s quite relevant for him to assist you."
Evelyn Clayton was even more surprised, "An MBA? That’s a bit overqualified."
"Not at all. Nowadays, MBAs are a dime a dozen, and it’s rare for those without family connections to find suitable jobs," Violet said calmly, without any trace of looking down upon Rhys, as if merely stating a fact.
Evelyn, originally from a design background, didn’t know much about this field.
But she was indeed tempted by such an assistant.
Given her and Yara Reagan’s networking resources, finding an assistant with a relevant postgraduate degree was quite challenging.
Violet Ford seemed to have it all sorted from the beginning.
Thinking of this, Evelyn’s smile became a bit more genuine, "Then I would be honored to accept him. Don’t worry, Violet, Rhys will be one of us here, and there’s no need for you to pay his salary. Let’s handle it through our company."
Upon hearing this, Violet knew that Evelyn was sincerely accepting Rhys, and a faint satisfaction showed in her eyes, "I knew you had a good eye and would surely appreciate Rhys. He’s just out of graduate school and needs opportunities to gain experience. He also understands the design industry, and with Gem just starting, you can leave everyday matters and work tasks to him."
Evelyn assumed Violet was just being polite; someone she personally selected couldn’t simply serve as a lifestyle assistant.
With the assistant matter settled, the two chatted and laughed as they left the meeting room.
Meanwhile, Franklin Ford and Yara Reagan happened to be coming out of the office.
For some reason, they both seemed a little embarrassed; there was even a stain on Franklin’s suit jacket.
Evelyn was slightly surprised, "What happened here?"
"I accidentally spilled a drink on Director Ford," Yara’s face reddened slightly, "Sorry, Director. How about leaving the jacket, and I’ll have it dry-cleaned and returned to you."
Franklin smiled, "No worries, I’ll take care of it myself."
He handed the model’s file to his sister, bid farewell to Evelyn, and left.
Watching Franklin and Violet leave, Evelyn and Yara exchanged glances.
"Well, let me introduce you, this is Rhys Jacobs, who will be the special assistant to the president," Evelyn said, feeling a bit embarrassed, glancing at Rhys, "The company is just starting up, so there’s quite a bit to handle. If Vice President Reagan needs anything from Rhys, there’s no problem with that, right?"
