On the day Evelyn Clayton was discharged, the Sinclair Family came to pick her up.
Pauline Warren was beyond delighted, calling Evelyn with such warmth, occasionally slipping out a "Little Aaron," without even realizing it.
Silas Sinclair, on the other hand, appeared a bit apologetic, quietly whispering an apology to Evelyn Clayton before getting into the car.
As for Shane Sinclair, he appeared just as indifferent as his mother.
"When we get home, I’ll first show you the place we’ve prepared for you, then you and Yara can rest a bit, and tonight we’ll have a family dinner!" This was something Shane Sinclair had talked about with Evelyn Clayton before, and Evelyn mentioned a few things that the late Aaron Sinclair and she liked, mixing them together without much thought.
Yara wasn’t picky about food, and Pauline Warren chatted with the two of them, all smiles.
An hour later, the car turned into a narrow road.
The car had curtains, so Evelyn Clayton could only catch glimpses of the scenery outside through the gaps.
The road was lined with somewhat old red walls, covered with ivy, looking like an old red building.
The car didn’t turn, seeming to go straight to the end of the road, with a slight uphill incline.
Finally, the car stopped briefly before moving slowly again.
It wasn’t until Evelyn Clayton got out of the car that she saw the full view of the Sinclair family home.
The house didn’t resemble many of today’s modern villas, rather more like a mansion from decades ago, yet not looking outdated.
Standing in the garden, the yard of the Sinclair house seemed vast beyond measure.
Yara looked on in surprise, holding back any signs of awe.
Guided enthusiastically by Pauline Warren, Yara and Evelyn Clayton were led to a two-story townhouse facing the main building.
"There are only two floors here, though not large, each room has been meticulously prepared,"
Pauline Warren said, leading Evelyn Clayton and Yara upstairs like a proud host.
The sight left Evelyn Clayton and Yara dazzled, giving them a renewed sense of the Sinclair family’s wealth.
This townhouse’s first-floor area alone was at least 200 square meters, not to mention the basement and high ceilings; the second floor seemed even more spacious with only two rooms, the rest being a media room and leisure area.
Back on the first floor, Pauline Warren brought out two identical boxes with eager hospitality.
The black velvet boxes were as big as two palms together, resembling jewelry boxes.
Pauline Warren handed the boxes respectively to Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan.
"This is a gift for Evelyn, and Yara, this is a welcome gift for you." Pauline looked hopefully at the two, "Come on, open them and take a look!"
Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan exchanged a glance and opened the boxes.
Inside Evelyn’s box was a pair of imperial green jadeite bangles, their quality clearly invaluable even at a glance.
While Yara’s were slightly less impressive but still striking, a pair of mutton fat jade bracelets.
Their expressions were now hard to contain.
