There was no reply from that side for a long time.
Evelyn Clayton stared at her phone for a while and stopped waiting.
"Why don’t you tell Violet to meet up today so they can rest assured?"
As she spoke, Evelyn Clayton paused and asked, "I forgot to ask you before, you haven’t met with Franklin Ford?"
Yara Reagan was stunned for a moment, then lowered her gaze, seemingly indifferent: "No, there’s no reason you absolutely have to meet, so why bother? Although I returned to Gem right after your incident, I’ve always been in touch with Violet, I’ve really never met him."
Evelyn Clayton instinctively felt something was amiss, but seeing that Yara Reagan didn’t want to chat more, she said no more.
The car arrived downstairs at Gem, the driver opened the door, and the two got out, only to realize there were several cars following them.

Evelyn Clayton wore a hat and sunglasses, her figure slimmer than before, so she wasn’t worried about being recognized.

The receptionist watched as Gem’s vice president walked in with a woman whose identity was evidently unusual, forgetting even to register.
Yara Reagan took Evelyn Clayton up the elevator and finally couldn’t hold back her laughter, saying: "Those people are probably puzzled, wondering when I roped in such a major business partner, taking five or six cars out."
Evelyn Clayton fought the urge to roll her eyes.
Once on Gem’s floor, Yara Reagan threw herself into the act.
"Oh, Miss Sinclair, slow down, slow down." Yara Reagan stifled laughter, courteously leading the way beside Evelyn Clayton.
Evelyn Clayton wanted to hit her but seeing there were many people around, she held back.
Inside the company, even through sunglasses, seeing the familiar environment, Evelyn Clayton felt much more relaxed.
Gem’s employees at work today saw the long-missing vice president bringing someone back, and those with keen eyes instinctively thought it was Evelyn Clayton, but didn’t dare to confirm.
Rhys Jacobs heard and came out, initially stunned upon seeing the visitor, then looked at Yara Reagan with a mix of surprise and uncertainty.
Yara Reagan stifled laughter, pretending to be stern: "What are you staring at, quickly tidy up Director Clayton’s office for guests!"
Rhys Jacobs looked like a deer in headlights, then glanced inquisitively at the woman in sunglasses, feeling uneasy.
"To Director Clayton’s office?" Rhys Jacobs tentatively asked, "Not to the lounge?"
"How can the lounge compare to Director Clayton’s office?" Yara Reagan said with utmost seriousness, "Go quickly!"
Rhys Jacobs nodded and went off, while Yara Reagan switched to a fawning smile, "Please, this way."
Evelyn Clayton found it hard not to laugh.
Finally, entering her office, hearing Yara Reagan lock the door, Evelyn Clayton took off her sunglasses and hat, looking helplessly at Yara Reagan.
Rhys Jacobs, who was by the water dispenser, looked over and was dumbfounded.
"Dir... Director..." Rhys Jacobs’ expression shifted from shock to joy, a typically composed person now with reddened eyes.
"You didn’t see wrong; I’m not a ghost, I’m back." Evelyn Clayton smiled gently, "But, I can’t let it be known to the public yet."
Rhys Jacobs stood frozen, at a loss, "You, you—"
"Won’t be able to stay long, I have to leave after handling things. But rest assured, once things are settled, I will return openly."
After a long time, Rhys Jacobs finally stopped stuttering, his voice carrying a slight choke.
"Welcome back, Director Clayton."
