Flirted Wrong, Married Right Chapter 725

After speaking, Evelyn Clayton gave a gentle smile to the confused Sharon.

James Grant was close enough to her that he could see clearly the gentle love in Evelyn Clayton’s eyes for Sharon.

But he distinctly felt that the love was so far away from him.

So close yet so far away, that’s probably what it was.

Evelyn Clayton left the ward.

Before leaving, she asked the nurse to keep an ear out, to pay attention to what Sharon and James Grant were saying.

She didn’t actually have any work to do, just looking to eat somewhere else with Yara Reagan and Iris Lockwood.

Once at the restaurant, Iris Lockwood sighed.

"I mean, you’ve already agreed for him to see Sharon, having a meal together wouldn’t really matter."

Yara Reagan glared at her, "What do you know? Some things can be compromised for the sake of the child, but why compromise on anything else, why go along with his intentions? Haven’t you heard the saying that accepting gifts makes one lose the power to criticize? This time it’s a meal, what’s next? Going to the movies together? Then going to a hotel room together?"

Yara Reagan spoke rather sharply, and Iris Lockwood mumbled, "Why are you angry at me? I was just saying it casually."

"I’m saying you have no sense."

"Where am I senseless? You’re attacking me personally!" Iris Lockwood became a bit upset.

Evelyn Clayton quickly soothed them, "It’s my fault, I didn’t make things clear from the start. Yara’s right, some things, if they’re not necessary, then just forget it. It might prevent James Grant from thinking there’s still a chance between us." Thɪs chapter is updated by novel※fire.net

Moreover, she was willing to give Sharon and James Grant some time alone together.

Evelyn Clayton couldn’t imagine the scene of the three of them sitting together for a meal.

It always felt so strange.

When they returned from the restaurant, James Grant had already left.

Asked about Sharon, Sharon was a bit sleepy, dazedly saying her dad just left.

But on the way back, they didn’t encounter James Grant, probably deliberately avoided them.

Evelyn Clayton felt inexplicably uneasy.

But the feeling didn’t last too long.

She found it difficult to truly empathize with James Grant.

Though Evelyn Clayton didn’t hate James Grant, it didn’t mean she could accept, understand, or empathize with him.

In the following two days, James Grant came daily, but he didn’t stay long.

Each time he came, he brought some food and toys for Sharon, said a couple of words to her, and left.

His interaction with Evelyn Clayton became less and less.

Evelyn Clayton was quite content with that.

Two days later, Pauline Warren couldn’t hide it any longer.

It started with Pauline Warren wondering why the girls at home weren’t returning every day, worried, she secretly checked Evelyn Clayton and Shane Sinclair’s bank records.

Discovering they had expenses at the hospital, she hurriedly came over.

Once she entered the ward and saw that Sharon was still pale, Pauline Warren cried first.

Then she started to scold Shane Sinclair and blame Evelyn Clayton.

She spoke for over an hour before stopping.

"Transfer schools, definitely transfer schools!" Pauline Warren firmly stated, "I’ll talk to Principal Shaw! They’re not even as good as Genesis Academy, it’s only because of old ties between Shaw and Zeming that we’re there, and now, they can’t even take care of the kids, why stay there?"

Shane Sinclair agreed, coaxing Pauline Warren not to be angry anymore.

Sharon was able to move again these two days, no longer afraid of the wound on the back of her head, so she also went to hug Pauline Warren and begged her not to blame Uncle and Mommy.

Pauline Warren hugged her granddaughter and kissed her again and again; waiting for her granddaughter to fall asleep, she began contacting new elementary schools.

Before the call could go through, the ward door was knocked upon.

Evelyn Clayton glanced outside, her expression subtly changed.

James Grant had arrived.

Before Evelyn Clayton could react, Shane Sinclair was already at the door opening it.
